the interesting information is at the bottom of the article

Riffle, for one, doesn’t think the future of marijuana has to be dominated by for-profit interests and monopolies. It’s why in his new job, working for Rep. John Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, he aims to help explore other models for legalized cannabis, including nonprofit models and government-run monopolies, the way that some states manage alcohol.

I like the idea of government grown and retailed marijuana a whole lot better than the Republican idea of private companies controlling distribution.

Discrete government buildings, no advertising (ie. Pushing), and the government could use profits for schools, roads, things that make an average citizen's life better.

Ok all you antigovernment types, time to pile on!

They've done such a great job with the post office!

Considering what the post office does day in and day out with an antagonistic Republican legislature trying to constantly destroy them, yeah, I think they do a remarkable job. AND, they do this while giving their employees decent wages and benefits AND allow unionization.
