Marijuana is Poisoning Owls!

You like that fake news headline?

Ok, what is really going on is that illegal outdoor grows in California (est 15,000 in Humboldt County alone) frequently use rat poison to protect their crops. Owls (spotted & barred, mostly) as the top predator eat the mice and eventually hemorrhage (which is how rat poison works, by inhibiting vitamin K and thus preventing blood clotting) and die.
