The United States of America may potentially be on the precipice of a Greek-style debt crisis within a few years, and our economy is increasingly looking like it may be at risk of entering another recession – and the Financial Crisis 2.0 could make the Great Recession look tame. Simply put, the Fed and Treasury have bloated their balance sheets to such grotesque levels to fight the deflationary forces sparked in the economy as a result of the housing collapse that there will be no more temporary “smoke-and-mirrors” fiscal and monetary options to circumvent another downturn.

Certainly, the Fed will likely give QE3…QE4…QE5, a shot if the economy becomes completely unglued, but similar to what has occurred in Japan for the last 20 years, it will not work. We have already seen what Mr. Bernanke’s money printing in the form of QE2 has wrought – it has robbed the middle class blind, while benefitting the entrenched corporate, banking, and political elite, along with wealthy Americans. The vast majority of Americans do not have sufficient financial assets such as bond, stock, commodity and hedge fund portfolios to offset the rise in food and energy prices that Bernanke has unleashed on the country due to his policy of Dollar devaluation through money printing.

The entire burden of a falling Dollar as a result of QE2 and the United States’ exploding debt has been placed on the middle and working classes, while the elite have benefitted from rising prices for financial assets. It is a scam. Furthermore, it hasn’t provided one iota of benefit for the vast majority of American citizens. The unemployment rate continues to hover at 9.1% and very likely could hit double digits by next year.

Furthermore, home prices hit a new low in May. This is the one asset that matters most to the majority of Americans, and things are getting worse. The creator of the Case-Shiller Home Price Index, Robert Shiller, recently said that he was optimistic that home prices could fall for the next 20 years. In all likelihood, there will be no economic recovery whatsoever when the dust settles. The bailouts, federal deficit spending, and quantitative easing programs that were enacted to attempt to reflate asset prices and spark the job market will be viewed by historians as failures. The entire Keynesian orgy’s real result is likely to be an even more devastating financial collapse.

The toxic debt that was held by the private sector before the crisis has now been transferred to sovereign balance sheets as well as those of global central banks. Furthermore, many private corporations have taken advantage of the Fed’s historically low interest rate policy to lever-up their balance sheets once again. These facts when combined with the moral hazard that we have introduced into our economic system as a result of the bailouts (corporate socialism), similar problems in most of the developed world, and an unprecedentedly interconnected global economy have set the stage for a potential systemic meltdown.

All of this could have been averted if we had taken heed of Dr. Ron Paul’s warnings years ago. This man has been fighting with absolute integrity and honesty for the values that this country was founded on for the last 30 years – sound money, balanced budgets, free markets, non-interventionist foreign policy and civil liberties. Most every other GOP Presidential candidate is an Establishment panderer who is beholden to entrenched special interests. Why should we trust another Establishment politician after being subjected to the lies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama, not to mention nearly every other politician in Washington D.C.?

Obama’s lies have been egregious and on par with those of President Bush. He lied about closing Guantanamo Bay. He lied about bringing the troops home. He resigned the Patriot Act after saying that he would would not. Furthermore, Obama is targeting American citizens for assassination without due process. This is in addition to the socialist, big government, programs he has passed such as ObamaCare, which was opposed by the majority of the American populace. Domestically, our spending has gotten completely out of control. President Bush got the ball rolling, and President Obama has sped up the process of destroying the country through debt.

According to a a recent Treasury report, the national debt will exceed the size of the economy this year. Just one year ago, the Treasury had said that the debt to GDP ratio would not break 100% until 2014. Can we really afford to elect Obama for 4 more years given that our debt/GDP level is estimated to hit 102% in 2012? Can you imagine what a U.S. default would look like? How about civil unrest, a collapsing Dollar, and unemployment rivaling the Great Depression.

Make no mistake, this country is on the precipice of crisis and we need to make radical changes. The 2012 Presidential elections may present one of the last opportunities for the American people to rise up against the oligarchy that has run this country into the ground for their own personal benefit at the expense of the majority of the citizens of this deteriorating Republic.

Amid the terrible domestic economy where another recession (depression?) seems likely, our politicians are still overseeing a disastrous foreign policy that is bankrupting us. We have been lied to repeatedly. We have been propagandized mercilessly by the mainstream media. We have been made to live in fear under the “War on Terror,” yet we have not been given a clear message about how this war can be won. How do you win the “War on Terror” by invading and occupying a sovereign country that had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, and killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians?

We are engaged in wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, and we are bombing Yemen and Pakistan all the while threatening Iran. How is this going to stop terrorism? Please tell me! We are creating more terrorists, while at the same time giving the extremists opportunities to kill Americans day in and day out. Why? If anything, we are galvanizing their cause in the eyes of other Muslims. Furthermore, we simply cannot afford more war mongering and militarism. Period.

Into this void has stepped a man whose reputation for integrity, honesty, and principles is unimpeachable. He has ideas which address nearly every single problem that this country faces. He wants to follow the Constitution, restore civil liberties, end the foreign occupations, downsize government, restore sound money and reform the Entitlement State. If we elected Dr. Ron Paul would all of these things happen overnight? Of course not. Many of his solutions would take years to successfully implement, but the ideas are powerful and very important. Ron Paul represents the idea of a radical reformation of our country – based on the principles enunciated by the founding fathers.

These ideas were profoundly powerful when they were written down in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. If Ron Paul can sufficiently stir the American populace, his ideas will take root even if he does not subsequently win the GOP nomination. If this happens, U.S. policy and the entire course of our country could shift much faster than most people realize. Nothing is more powerful than an idea, and few ideas are as powerful as the concept of liberty. It is time that we finally tried something different. Ron Paul represents real change.

You do realize that Ron Paul wants to eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency. I remember the Hudson River being so dirty that you could not see 3 inches into it. Do we need that? I can see our natural resources which are our property being polluted or deformed and spoiling it for hunters, fishermen and others who enjoy the outdoors. I also hope that all those people who are are on disability and food stamps enjoy what their lives would become if all health programs and SS / SS disability go by the wayside. The dignity of begging should be experienced by many!

Too many of us are one issue voters. Ron Paul sounds good and certainly he is smart and forthright but we sure would have to smoke ourselves silly just to not contemplate our lives once ALL if what he proposes would be enacted.

The closest thing to a true libertarian state is Somalia where everything is dependent of market forces. I believe their capital was listed as the worst city in the world to live in. You think if there were no rules everyone would play nice? If you do then I want to move to the planet where your mind lives.

I certainly think we need improvements in how and why our govt. operates. Unfortunately to me a lot of that, or rather too much of it seems to be controlled by major corporations which can hire lobbyists (the least who is paid 325k a year , so I hear)who because of the Supreme Court ruling that essentially corporations were people created the super pacs where companies or very wealthy individuals can now throw unlimited amounts of money to organizations devoted to supporting a given candidate. Then tremendous amounts of $ is spent influencing us through various media.

Unfortunately as we all know the will of the people is often disregarded. Hi five to our attorney general!

We need to get $ out of politics and all elections esp our Federal Levels should be paid by the people. Then Our senators would not have to spend 4 hours a day on K St. in offices asking for money. They have to average 20k a day to raise for their next election campaign.

It must sound really good when someone can come to you with BIG money. A week or so of without having to kiss donkey and make deals sounds good to me.

I have no problem with anyone wanting to support Ron Paul.I would like to suggest thinking about what kind of world we would have if he was President.

I also am open to opposing views.

Ron Paul wishes to get ride of all federal agencies that are redundant and truly not under the only two powers the federal government is granted by our constitution, interstate commerce and nation defense. Decentralizing the power does not mean we revert to chaos and people are free do dump toxic waste. Each and ever state has their equivalent of the EPA and every other federal redundant over reaching organization. The only thing the EPA does is return a token amount of money they stole from the state in the first place for projects. Each state makes and enforces their own regulations, though there are federal guidelines we have to follow if we want to get that token money back.

Somalia is not libertarian. It is a destabilized country and they are living in criminal anarchy. The libertarian party wants regulation and laws to protect people, but it pretty much ends there. Murder, rape, theft, and every other crime with a victim will still be a crime. Dumping nuclear waste would still be a crime. The war on drugs, thought crimes, consensual adult behavioral crimes, and every other crime with out a victim will go away in a libertarian society. Live and let live, but harm no one.

Libertarians believe every person should be able to choose what is right for themselves and the government should not force what it thinks is best for each individual. As long as those choices do not harm other people. Libertarians are commonly confused with anarchist, but they are not the same.

Early U.S., pre-1900, is a good example what libertarianism looks like. Post 1900 we start to see everything becoming a crime and a quick down hill role into a police state championed by the moral police. Many things, like slavery and the stealing of land, fell outside of modern libertarianism, but it is still one of the closest libertarian societies.

I'm listening but Paul hasn't convinced me yet. He's the smartest of the Republican lot but that's not saying so much. He does seem to have common sense, I'll give him that. Someone told me Paul has perfect congressional attendance and has never missed a vote.

What any candidate says means little to nothing. The importance lies in what they've done, or not done.

The election is still a long way off and plenty of time to make an educated decision.

Peace.

Yeah I think you misunderstand what Mr.Paul is advocating. He isn't saying lets get rid of all these agencies and let people do whatever. He is saying at the federal level these agencies need too go and let the states regulate themselves. Ridding the fed of these agencies frees up $$$$ for the federal government and less intrusion on our lives. The Constitution was designed to limit federal governments role in our daily lives not expand it.

Also, please keep in mind that RP will defend and protect YOUR individual human rights. That means that if someone pollutes your town, thereby infringing on your right to live for your own sake, then Mr Paul will defend YOUR rights against the corporations. He is in YOUR corner, not corporations or governmental agencies. Would you have agencies protected instead of individual humans? That is why we are so screwed up now, people are so brainwashed to think that unless Washington or Lansing controls or monitors something that we can't survive without them. We really can, you know. Just by insuring that the individual rights of each person is defended and respected above all else (unless you are harming others), RP would improve the lives of each individual human. How can anyone, unless there is a true lack of understanding, or some evil intent, be aganst these principles? This is what we need. If you want to be free to live, to choose your own food, medicines, activities, friends, etc., then please consider what you are saying by voting for some group or other that individual rights do not matter, that you just need to be in the right group and vote the right group special privileges and vote the wrong group out. Why would anyone, unless some impairment or some evil design, want to vote for groups over individuals? I still send my thoughts to everyone today, that hearts can be changed to allow for love and compassion and to turn from voting away our individual human rights. Please stop hating individuals and our rights today. Please consider voting for someone like Mr Paul or Gary Johnson, who will uphold and defend YOUR individual rights against all foes, foreign or domestic, just like our currently elected officials have lied when they promised to do the same. May hearts have love today for each individual and see past labels and groups...untitledNM.jpgUnderstanding_Missing_Peace.gifpeace_love_understanding.jpginterfaith6.gif

The states currently provide all free education. What the fed does is says, teach this approved propaganda curriculum and we will give you back x amount of the money we took from you. So they take the state's money, make it poor, and only return it if the state does what the fed wants. It is a scam. To skirt the constitution the federal gov takes the majority of the money the states make forcing them to follow federal guidelines to get some of the money back. It is basically blackmail. This blackmail system is historically new in the U.S. and is causing the downfall of this great country.

The united states was designed to have many different approaches to solving the various problems that arise in a society. Each state was meant to come up with the solution that best fits their population. Some states will do better than others. The states that fail will mimic the states that succeed, thus the country succeeds. Under a centralized federal government there is only one solution tried. When it fails, the country fails. Unfortunately the majority of solutions fail.

Want your money back to fix your roads? Make the drinking age 21, speed limits 75 and under, seat belt law, and a slew of the crud and we will give you YOUR money back. Thanks for giving my money back DOT. Want your money back for your police force? Militarize them, make a SWATT team in every county and kick x amount of doors in every year and you can have YOUR money back. Thanks for giving my money back DEA. Want your money back for cleaning up your polluted rivers? It is all blackmail. They steal and return after taking a nice chunk out to pad their pockets, if you conform to the one solution that is thought to be best for everyone in their opinion. Or more like the opinion of their largest wheel greaser, money talks. The blackmail system promotes corruption and tyranny.
