So California Dispensaries Have Had 15 Years To Shut Down Home Grows.

Why is it that they haven't? We know collectively dispensary owners in Cali have 100's of millions of dollars, so why do you think they are not going after patients grow rights as has been alluded to hear in Michigan? Or if they are going after them why is it not working?

I'm surprised by the lack of any answers here. While the anti dispensary folk keep saying that the dispensary people are out to take away our right to grow, I don't see this happening in Cali. What makes that state different?

It seems if we can figure that out maybe we will have our answer to save our own home grows.

You would have to ask the individuals involved in it:

Why did Freed and Stravros do it here(along with others)?

Why did Steve The Pimp at Harborside in California do it?

Why did the MMP do it to the whole state of Arizona?

It does seem to be a fairly new bug sweeping the nation.

New, or just finally properly diagnosed?

^^^^^^like he said--

It has nothing to do with California dispensaries---

they are all based on the collective co-operative cultivation model

California's law SB420 says.."to enhance the access ------of medical marijuana to patients and caregivers thru collective co-operative cultivation"....

seems if you had a dispensary based on collective co-operative cultivation with other pts/cgs.....

it would not be to your best interest to restrict pts/cgs grow rights since your format is based on this justified--sanctified

every club in Cali started this way---collective ...co-operative

.....that's how they were able to expand the numbers of plants needed to effect uninterrupted supply--

and allow patients more freedom and better access to increase their little grows...collectively

this also allowed pts/cgs more freedom from arrest....

.clubs popping up everywhere

800 in and around LA within a couple years

3-400 around SF the same mayb more with San Jose and surrounding communities-

no it's the Colorado tax and regulate folks who are pushing that format.....restricted grow zones-- mostly urban

they have a 'business model' that includes the state and local municipalities

my guess here you'll see this---zoning and regulation

they were sort of run out of Cali with the prop 19 effort

andiamo and Richard lee--but they got the attention they wanted....except richard lee....lol...too bad

most growers-dispensary-owners -cgs/pts voted against 19....and it narrowly lost

it was the general public they convinced to vote most for it like in Colorado

notice they kept it out of Oregon--too close to Cali and the sentiments are the same throuout that region

'Jeffersonian libertarians' ...the Jeffersonian state is what they practice throughout there

southern Oregon is now almost bigger than other places for large outdoor farms

Colorado dispensaries from the very minute they came online were 'for-profit' dispensaries ---zoned ..licensed...

w heavy licensing fees for the cities where they are located--$$$

so think here in depressed economy Michigan how they are going to think of this---

and the folks allready linking up in their respective areas to do this and try for a legitimate tax and regulate system....

when we see the dispensaries here with those little sign wigglers in the streets advertising ounces for 139$ ..

..it will be game over for most except the biggest ones that talked everyone into this model....

they will sell out to big pharm tobacco liquor as some stated on those shows on tv--in Colorado

watch out for the tax and regulate folks coming in trying to take over and control everything.....

their allready here and watch Colorado and Washington for what's gonna happen--

grow rights---?

enjoy them now while you sort of have them ---

see what happened in Canada after 10+yrs of quasi legal?

WELL, AT least they’re legal in California. But since it’s illegal under federal law, the Obama administration and the Justice Department lowered the boom.

What a colossal waste of taxpayer money, which results in anything but justice.

Sign the petition at the White House website.

Pardon Aaron Sandusky(Case# CR12-00548 PA) A man currently in prison facing 10 yrs to life for growing medical marijuana.

Aaron Sandusky was wrongfully indicted and convicted by the federal government for operating a medical marijuana dispensary in CA in which it is fully legal within the state.

Aaron was operating in accordance to state guideline. He was visited and reassured by FBI officials that he and his business were not of interest and could continue to operate. In Nov. 2011 he was raided by the federal government, charged and convicted without a defense.

It is our request that the President grant a full pardon to Mr. Sandusky on the ground that California has legalized medical marijuana and President Obama and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, had assured the American public that the federal government would not prosecute medical marijuana dispensary operators in those states where it was legalized.

Bob,

If you were growing and a dispensary sets up within 25 miles of you, would you be pissed when you had to stop your growing? After that happened, would you see it as wasted federal dollars when they shut the dispensary down, and you could grow again?

  • 2 weeks later...

Out here in California, purchasing meds on the street is still more convient and less expensive than going to a dispensary. Since the federal crackdown on dispensaries, growers find that moving their product out the back door makes more sense. Dispensaries keep patient and grower information on record. Feds sieze all these records when they raid and growers become worried that flash bangs will find their way into their homes soon. There is also the tax issue...dispensaries send their growers 1099s every January. There is no paper trail on the street.

A trip to a collective (dispensary) is like a trip to the candy store for many Californians. Harborside Health is the best collective I have visited since moving here from Michigan. All their products are tested for impurities, thc and cbd. Products are then rated, the best being "top shelf". The selection of clones is amazing, I had 20 strains from which to choose. However, inspite of a collectives reputation for honesty and product diversity, a trip to one is still an expensive novelty.

I hope we can legalize cannabis without negatively impacting Californias medical cannabis laws.

Bless all you fighting the good fight.
