Funding A Cancer Patient's Legal Fight

Recommended Posts

Actually, I have GRADUATE level training in medical law, actually took the LSAT, and have personally worked with many attorneys as a professional expert witness. Your lack of understanding of basic principles of logic and legal theory have been glaring.  Many smart folks go to community college, some grasp the material better than others.

But again, this discussion is not about my qualifications, nor about my thoughts that later turned out to be spot on, it is about a patient.  You have made it clear you don't want to help, you have been asked repeatedly to drop the matter, let it go.  We don't need your help or your pet theories.

Getting back to the point of the thread, we are stuck at $380, prob due to the holiday and folks spending time with their families rather than on line.  Please take a moment to stop back on the page and share it with your friends....

Thanks for the support most are showing here, Gary deeply appreciates it.

I must have missed something i didn't know you where  prosecuted for cannabis use

so sorry

I wasn't. The statement regards other mistakes for which there were consequences. There are other infractions that do have them. I have had cannabis confiscated at a traffic stop, blood drawn, and my grow searched, but had my ducks in a row and was in compliance. I've never been charged with or prosecuted for driving under the influence of cannabis. My four zips, some hash, and paraphernalia were returned to me. Picking them up from the police station laughing out loud was pure pleasure. You don't have to be terribly bright to follow the simple requirements of sec. 4.

Let me start out by saying, I am far from perfect!!!  I have made so many mistakes and have done so many things I should be in prison for, but I used common sense and paranoia to keep me safe, I tried to keep those around me or lower than me in the chain, but like they say you can lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink!

I am in no way saying that this guy didnt break any laws, obviously he did,  but im willing to be all of us have traveled with a lil bit of weed or made a few minor traffic infractions ( an accident where no one gets hurt is not that bad) And I bet most of us drove within an hr of medicating, for those of you who say no you didnt, well I better not have seen you at an f.m or a cc picnic on private property, I will call you a big fat liar!

Look at this poor guy, he is only 8 yrs older than me, his hands are all messed up, his knees are all messed up and he has cancer to boot!

Cut this guy some slack, this could be any of us one day!  If you can afford to donate a little bit that is ok, but lets quit knocking this guy and the person who was kind enough to run this thread for him, Im realy getting tired of a few people in here (this thread) one of you that are causing problems, I had one of the best days in my life at a picnic with you, we laughed our buts off for hrs, my stomach and face hurt for days!  you know you are not like you have been writing in here, and if you are, please quit, make another thread and do all the neg stuff you want in there, I will even come there and post!

Just look at this guys pics and tell me you dont think he could use a support system!

Peace

That kind of attitude reflects well on all of us, thank you Phaq.

I just put quite a bit more into the fund (my donations are direct to the attorney) and my donations are in line with what I can afford by giving up things I wanted.  Who will donate the cost of an 1/8th?  $35-50 that you divert from something you want to help Gary?

i will.

thank you doctor Bob for stepping up to help this man.. it almost looks as if he has no where else to turn... and of all people his certification specialist stepped up and is trying to help make sense of this wicked bad conundrum... be careful Doc.. you are going to give us cannabis people a good name and the legislators will be pissy about that...

i offer up the $35 even tho i provide 1/8ths to my patients for significantly less than that amount..

sorry i can't give more but things are beyond tight right now...

this man made some mistakes...yes that seems to be true... however i feel like he deserves some help from us in the community... time to step up and help.

who knows which one of us may be caught off guard next?

mistakes happen in life.. how you deal with them is what defines your character..

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but every time I think about this guy I flash back to the end of 'Kingdom of Heaven'.  This guy is no one to me, and he is everyone.  Other than the fact he gave me a really cool dog and needed my services.

FWIW, I was not driving. I've said what there is to say, wish this guy luck, and had not planned on commenting further.

That is good of you Bob, trying to help out a patient. That is why I only recommend a couple of doctors for certifications. Most are not wiling to back up the recommendation. It has been a tough winter with a lot of extra expenses. I just donated my last $26 to a similar cause, Jay Bud. They want to give him 15 to life! As far as I know he was completely legal. This is in Cass County.

The only way we are ever going to win this battle is to show the prosecutors it is a waste of time and money. We just need to support each other. When I do come across the extra cash, I will happily offer my support.

When a patient or caregiver makes a petty mistake, they should not be facing the harsh charges as if they are a great threat to society. I think they should have a fine system. You keep messing up, the fine is more costly. Maybe after the third incident in the same year, then face a more harsh punishment.

Really, it should just be legal period. It is a plant.

Thanks for doing what you do too help as many as you already do we also know Jay and his story well and agree he was legal as far as what i know i have talked to him on the phone many times and have given $$ to help as much as we can

As far a cannabis being made legal i still don't think that would stop Leo from doing what they do today even in the States that have done it like CO. if you look at what is happening it's not all that it seems to be
