My friend, I haven't tried to upload anything since the root porn. From my understanding there was yet another server upgrade, recently. I know it's a pain the rear, but was definitely needed.

Have you tried shooting Garf a pm about it?

yup......... no answer yet.

the strange thing is that i cannot upload those same pics from the same memory card that they were originally uploaded from??

so weird............ i can upload any other pics from that card......... either newer or older than those same DIY pics............ but i cannot upload those exact pics again?

anyways............ i tore apart a bucket, killed a plant................. and took the pics over again.

trust that will not be happening again as i wont be doing anymore tutorials until the MMMA gets sturdy feet. these wobbly azz knees that this site stands on just ain't cutting it.

assuming the site stays "up" for the next hour, i will re-upload the pics.

let us pray..........................

DOUBLE BUDGET BUBBLE BUCKET

here we go. i'm using some extra parts around the grow room for pics, but the majority of the equipment was bought in bulk, so i used what i had :)

here's what we are starting with:

med_gallery_13801_182_389290.jpg

med_gallery_13801_60_260567.jpg

and also a 5" mesh pot. not sure how i left that out of the photos :)

anyhow, here's your parts list:

5 gallon bucket

5 gallon bucket lid

20-60 gallon wal-mart air pump $8.99

4 feet of 1/4" aquarium air line

one 6" air stone

one 2" mesh pot

one 2" mesh pot insert

one 5" mesh pot

1/4" airline tee

lets start with the lid:

med_gallery_13801_182_338914.jpg

you see 3 holes in the lid.

a 4 3/4" hole in the dead-center for the 5" mesh pot.

a 1/4" tiny hole in the very edge for the airline to pass through.

a 1 7/8" hole for our "lookout" hole :)

now lets grab our air pump and attach about 4-5" of airline to each port:

med_gallery_13801_182_123240.jpg

and then you want to connect those 2 ends of the airline to your 1/4" tee:.... (a little more secure than in the picture is preferred as i just threw it together for picture purposes :) ) :

med_gallery_13801_182_318768.jpg

then attach the rest of your airline (about 3 feet) to the open end of the tee. run this line through the 1/4" hole into and through the lid.

med_gallery_13801_182_152220.jpg

after the line is run from the tee, through the lid, and into the bucket, attach the 6" air stone to the end of the line. the 6" airstone has enough weight to itself that it will stay at the bottom of the bucket.

now let's get your 2" mesh pot and 2" insert together. these were leftovers in the grow room as i had bought mad bulk of each for various aerocloners. they are about 20 cents each for the 2" pot and the 2" insert:

med_gallery_13801_182_229092.jpg

these work as a GREAT airtight "plug" for the lid of the bucket. insert the set-up into the 1 7/8" hole in the lid and then put your 5" mesh pot in the big hole, and you should be somewhere about here:

med_gallery_13801_182_96634.jpg

the particular brand of buckets that i have here gives me exactly 4 gallons of water to reach a level that is 1/8" below the net pot. after plugging in the water pump and pulling the 5" mesh pot, i can see some action :)

med_gallery_13801_182_298744.jpg

ok, now here is where our 2" hole comes into play :) remove the little meshpot and we have an access hole:

med_gallery_13801_182_268284.jpg

from that access hole we can see the 5" mesh (growing) pot. we can also see what the water level is, and where we need to be.

also, we can use a 99 cent turkey baster to retrieve some water/nutes from that holefor testing:

med_gallery_13801_182_157345.jpg?t=66084515med_gallery_13801_182_1674686.jpg?t=58116421

so we fill/check/add, WHATEVER we need to do through the little hole and when we arent playing around in there, the 2" meshpot with the 2" insert inside plugs the hole for us and keeps bad crap out.

WE GOOD? :)

of course now we need a plant :) here's a newly rooted clone from the aerocloner:

med_gallery_13801_182_85686.jpg

and twinkle twinkle, click your heels together, and here she is after 20 days in veg:

med_gallery_13801_182_264983.jpg

i will leave the flower and harvest pics up to you guys :)

Thanks for the detailed response THCfarmer! I have a better understanding of cannabis growth after reading it. I have a hard time as a relative newbie, deciphering that which is fact, and that which is false or myth. I am 40 y.o. and have heard many over the years! Thanks KGB

Could someone take a look at a couple of my pics to estimate the problem and causes so I don't make the same mistakes twice! FFof with silver haze and himalayan gold. 6-20 flower start and have been using sensi bloom on a not so regular basis.(oops.)

Look at pic 8-25 8 mp res, zoomed in, in the magnifying glass picture viewer at the the top of the window. not much growth on the top of the buds??? Thanks

The humidity has been less than 50%. Almost 8 weeks flowering. Buds are really airy. was just wondering how much longer I should wait to harvest. saw a couple of seeds on the plant from God knows where. Will a few seeds change the metabolism of the whole plant enough for it to just stop growing? My temps have been in the high 70's. ?

where did your seeds/clones come from??

what was your humidity??

there really doesn't look like there is a ton "wrong" per say............. but i do see some airy buds and foxtailing that maybe could have been avoided with more light and lower humidity???

sorry to sound so stupid but what is foxtailing

your numbers all sound good. it either has to be a nute thing or a strain thing??? your temps/humidity and whatnot sound good to me??

many strains will produce "nanners" towards the end of life. these nanners are male flowers that will in turn pollinate the plant and cause it to produce "clone seeds". these seeds are usually exact matches of the mother plant. a cannabis plant wants to reproduce so bad that it will do it all by itself :)

not stupid at all...................

foxtailing is basically a neat name for thin, airy buds.

foxtailing is neither good, nor bad IMO............ but it does sometimes let you know that something isnt right in your grow room. many times it is humidity.

foxtailing is when calyx grow upon calyx and there is nearly zero leaf matter.

generally growers think of this as being a bad thing because you do not have dense "normal" looking buds. one plus for the grower may be easy trimming though :)

i actually have some GREAT pics stashed away somewhere and if i get a chance today i will dig them out :)

yeah that was me.. havent posted any pics in quite awhile

think my biggest prob is my 400w bulb

Got reflective walls up yesterday maybe that will help

also that was a Cindy99xCindy88 I harvested first so maybe it is just a smal yeald plant....

I really need to step up to a 1000w bulb.. but I had to take out a loan to buy the craap I got so I have no money to improve.. the darn grow store sold me 12 5 gal bubble buckets to go under a 400w light and told me I would be makeing tons of money. DO NOT BUY FROM "URBAN GARDEN SUPPLY" IN FLINT AT THEY ARE CROOKS! THE GOOFY CROSS-EYED SALESMAN IS THE WORST! HE CHARGED ME $200 to go see a Dr that was only chargeing $50 to everyone else! And sold me a ton of equipment and chems I didnt need nor can use.
