Hi, Don't Mind Me. I'm Here Now.

Recommended Posts

Only two types provide jobs. People with money and the government. If your not in one of those groups then you work for or live off of one of them. I would rather work than live off of what I now have to. And if Trump's daddy left him money or not. He creates jobs for people. And as he told Hillary, "you passed the law that I just took advantage of". Both parties make bad laws. It's not a one sided thing. And I never said I agree with everything republicans do, I just said I'm one.

3 types, people with money, the gov't and yourself.  I've worked for myself for teh last 23 years.  No employees and no boss, just me.  Bred animals, grown MJ and collected mushrooms.

Well ya see I have paid into the system. Until I became disabled anyways. But this wonderful government of ours did give me what was due me. Strung me along until my credit became invalid and then allowed me to have SSI(after all I'm privileged). So I paid "my fare share", but didn't get the benefits I paid into. That's whats wrong with all insurancew. Not to mention that lawyers are making medical decisions, instead of doctors. Who the hell thought that on up?

So have you read the new healthcare bill? It's only 124 pages instead of over 10,000 pages. By the way that's almost 1 1/2 tree per bill printed. House of Representatives 435, Senate 100 plus copies to their staff. Not to mention thousands to the public. So if you care about the environment, where''s your outrage about ACA destruction of trees?

How long do I have to work to qualify for Social Security Disability?

The amount of work necessary to qualify for disability benefits depends on your age. Social Security quantifies your work history in terms of work credits. Usually, you need 20 work credits earned in the last 10 years.

However, younger workers can qualify for disability benefits with fewer work credits. If you become disabled before age 24, you must have earned 6 credits in the three years prior to the onset of your disability. If you become disabled between age 24 and 31, you need credits for half the time between age 21 and the onset of your disability. For example, if you become disabled at age 29, you would need four years of prior work, or 16 credits.

You will also need to have worked recently to qualify for Social Security disability benefits. If you worked in your youth but took off 6 years to raise a family, you will no longer qualify for Social Security disability benefits. Most SSDI recipients need to have worked recently, usually any 5 of the past 10 years.

If you have worked intermittently, but have earned income within the past couple of years, you may be eligible for Social Security disability benefits.

If you haven't worked enough, there is still hope for your claim. You can apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. These benefits are for people of all ages with a severe financial need.

A worker can earn up to four Social Security credits per year, maximum. Before 1978 a worker had to earn a certain amount in each quarter of the year to earn a credit. Hence the credits were called quarters. In that year Congress changed the rules so that workers could earn up to four credits if they earned over a certain amount in one calendar year, no matter when in the year the income was earned. Nevertheless, the credits are still referred to as quarters, and eligibility is said to depend on the number of quarters of coverage (or QC’s) earned. The terms “credits” and “quarters” are now used interchangeably.

The amount that needs to be earned to receive a credit increases each year; in 2011 the amount is $1,120 (thus, in 2011 $4,480 earns the maximum four “quarters of coverage” even if it is all earned in the same quarter of the year). In 2012 the amount that must be earned to receive a credit goes up to $1,130, and $4,520 will earn the maximum four quarters. Of course, the work must have been done in “covered employment” that was subject to Social Security taxes.

So, you would have had to have earned $4400/yr for 5 years to receive SSDI.(going by your 5 and half year qualification process)  You didn't do such.  You didn't pay in nearly enough. You did not pay anywhere near your "fair share" nor did you earn anything for such little work history.  Sorry, it happens. I get it.

So why does you not working for ten years, at least very very little in ten years, mean that SSD insurance is messed up? I get the problems with insurance, but this isn't one of them.  The only problem is you were not really a consistent or regularly productive worker.

But that is why we have SSI. To help people like you.  It is the right thing to do. Otherwise you get nothing because you were, by definition, never a contributing member of society.  I think people can contribute in other ways myself, but that is what it is.

For my disability, I went before a Judge, not an attorney. And your doctors records represent you.  And they rule by what the republican/democratic administrations/Congress have put down as the rules.  You have to contribute a minimum amount to be eligible.  In Michigan, they have expedited hearings after initial denial where you can forego the "middle' process and go directly to a judge. It took me 1.6 years years from the day I filled out my forms to my first check.  But, I know many barely qualify and sometimes have to go through extended hearings. Each State though governed by Federal guidelines, does implement their process in approved ways.

So, healthcare, which is extremely complicated, should be able to be done in 100 pages is your point?  That is smaller than my own health records from the last few years.  Hahaha..  And the ACA was not 10,000 pages, it was about 2500 pages... so just stop lying. I actually read it.  And if you ever read legislation, each page is about half a page.  It took me about as long to read Obamacare is it did to read a single harry potter novel.  Game of Thrones' first book took much longer and was more difficult to read.  And when we are talking about a bill that is dealing with 1/6th of our entire economy,  I am surprised it isn't longer.

Tree's?  Really?  You must really be out of intelligence and coherent points to go there.  That is just absurd.  I read it on the US House of representatives website, before and after it was passed.  *shrug*   Who read it? I easily did in a couple days.

Well the sad part is. Very few said welcome to the boards. Instead decided to do what most of you complained about me. Bringing in politics. So I guess the main reason I came here, and all of you are here is mute. Yes I read lots of posts before joining. And I wanted to make it clear of who I am. I'm proud to be me. I've worked hard most of my life. I have a wife of 34 years and 2 grown kids doing well with their lives. I'm not saying I'm perfect, but I strive everyday to be more Christ like. I've not cast judgement on any of you, but many of you have cast judgement on me. Why because I'm a Republican? Or is it that I said I would defend my beliefs? Either way I came here. For something we all have in common.

You still never answered  any of my question.

Why do you vote republican when they want to take away all your livelihood?

And see,  I know a bit too much about this stuff.

If you are actually receiving $735/month, which is actually $749/month in Michigan because Michigan Tax payers supplement your SSI check every 3 months with a $42 check, it means your wife has zero income otherwise your check would be smaller. You receive the maximum. As a married couple, you would be able to get Medicare part A using your wife or your minimum benefits.  You did not qualify it seems, thus you never earned or paid taxes on income above $4500/yr(about 4 months at minimum wage),... neither you or your wife in the past ten years.

So,... why,.. again, why do you vote republican when you and your wife would be homeless and without any healthcare if the exact people you vote for get enough power?

I really want to understand it.  It baffles me. it really does.

It makes zero sense.

You never substantially worked and paid taxes, you receive a free check every month, you get free healthcare you never "earned" or paid for, you receive food stamps or can, you have no money(under $2000, well $3,000 counting your wifes assets) yet,... you support the people that want to take that away?

Please explain.

How does this stuff get figured out?

The Facts

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/how-many-pages-of-regulations-for-obamacare/2013/05/14/61eec914-bcf9-11e2-9b09-1638acc3942e_blog.html?utm_term=.84f812feb09c

The process the McConnell folks used is fairly simple. They went to the Web site for the Federal Register and searched for “Affordable Care Act,” the official name for the health-care law. That turned up 897 documents.

On the Web site, there’s a button that will download the documents to an Excel spreadsheet (CVS/excel). Then you use the sum feature on Excel to add up the pages and presto, you end with 20,202 pages. These were then printed out and duly stacked in a pile.

“Some of these may only relate to ‘Obamacare’ (rather than being entirely on ‘Obamacare’), but since they’re related, they’re part of the regulatory structure,” said Don Stewart, McConnell’s spokesman.

Regular readers know that we frown on such page-counting exercises, since we’re not sure what it really tells you. In the case of the health-care law, businesses actually have been seeking detailed regulations so they know exactly what to expect. And using the same methods used by the McConnell team, we found tens of thousands of pages of regulations for Medicare Advantage and the prescription drug plan (Medicare Part D), which were pushed by Republicans.

People that vote 3rd party, not the party themselves.  Does that answer mean yes? That you define everyone by the party they vote for?  That voting for that party means you take their whole platform to heart?   For someone who demands everyone answer every one of your questions you don't seem to do the same.  Why don't you vote green or libertarian or some party that actually wants to legalize MJ, don't you want MJ to be legal?

Let me simplify so you can understand why I am asking "why".

If one of my Korean friends comes to me and says " I vote for the American Freedom Party"... I don't understand it, so I ask "why?" I would like to understand it.

When someone with the demographics of this "Don young" comes in and says " I vote Republican(in his first post), and tells me his demographics; and his general life demographics are the antithesis of the Republican party platform and ideals,... I ask "why" can you explain.

Make sense?

First off, what's this mean?  You can see teh time I edit and when others post, tehre's no overlap.  I'm not changing my posts after people answer.  your starting to sound like Resto.  I add so I don't fill the page with post after post when it can be added onto what I already answered.

Edited to quote you so people can see what you actually post before changing your posts after others post.

Why don't you vote for any party that actually wants to legalize MJ?  Simple? yet you still can't answer all my questions.  And answering falsely doesn't count as answering.  Your posts answer all those questions opposite of what you just answered.

Using my previous screen names?  Try name, only 1 and that account was locked when I was kicked off.  I have no other accounts.  You are really starting to sound paranoid here Mal. And I give you strait answers you just don't like them.

Ohhh, poor Norby.

sigh'

Your cluelessness always amazes me.  Your ability to take responsibility is vacant.  Your need to stir up trouble here by making multiple names is kinda cute though.

First, I vote for several parties. Did you even read my post about third parties?

Secondly,.. and well, lastly for your ignorant questions is:

Democratic National Platform:

Because of conflicting laws concerning marijuana, both on the federal and state levels, we encourage the federal government to remove marijuana from its list as a Class 1 Federal Controlled Substance, providing a reasoned pathway for future legalization.

And still, my question never answered....

Oh the post I changed was at 954 same time you posted.  I didn't see your post when I edited.  You are really touchy Mal.  You should really tke a vacation from this place.  It seems to be getting to you. You have every ability to check ip address' and see how many people have how many accounts on this site.  I assure you I only have the locked Norby account and this one.  No others.  If this is getting too much and you want me to back off just let me know.  Don't want to push you over the edge or anything.

But what was your question?

Dems JUST added that quote to their platform THIS YEAR.  I'm not stupid.  So every year prior you voted against MJ if you were voting dem, according to their platform.

And you never said you ever voted for any one of those parties.  I read the post.  Did you always vote for those parties or did you ever vote dem?  Cause if you did refer to above quote.

And it still says future legalization, not now.  They want it moved to 2 with coke.  I'm not that stupid.  Maybe you are but I'm not
