^^^OK cuz I am going to need it.....I dont have the money to put together my RDWC system, so what do you think would be best for my situation (aka very quick turn around) individual 5 gallon buckets or totes with 2 plants in each? also I need a defined answer to how to keep my water at the right temp (65-70 degrees)..

do I keep the buckets/totes on the bare floor or elevate them??? Do I need to wrap the buckets/totes to keep them warm during lights off?? do I need a supplemental heater?? can I have to many bubbles? I am running two 1k HPS bulbs (which I am going to buy new ones) should I veg under the 1k's to speed up the veg process??? or should I just veg under my 450+ T5's???

these are the worst results I have ever had, and I think I found the problems, I was flowering 8 mothers and they were just to tall and the I had zero light penetration, so the tops were nice, but the rest was just pure crap

Fed the girls for the first time today. Their stretch has gotten less since putting them under the HPS, still looking at leaves (even new growth) growing out with yellow edges.

Gave them 3 tsp/Gal Fox Farms "Grow Big" 6-4-4 veg formula (on the lower end of their recommended regular feeding concentration), adjusted pH the best I could (using drops. . . waiting for my electronic pH meter to show up) to about 7.

Watered them until they were saturated. Runoff tested just a tad higher than 7, again hard to tell with the color system used with the drop tester. Definitely not much over 7.

They look pretty much like the pics from before. I'm hoping this feeding will green them up some. . .

If I don't post anything else until then. . . Happy New Years!

Lower your PH 7 is to high, shoot for 6.5, the drop kits are plenty fine, shoot for a almost yellow color with a green tint to it, Orange tint is way to low for soil. If you're in hydro though You want to be more like 5.8-6.2 so a straight yellow would be preferred.

totes or buckets? depends on your strain and how long you are going to veg them...... thats the only real difference between the 2..... you can put 2 plants in a tote and only one in a bucket.

a regular DWC system can become an RDWC for about $8. all you need is a small water pump. and even if you only have 2 or 3 buckets growing, i would still link them together and spend the $8 on the water pump. not only will it recirculate for you, it will make keeping your water cool a snap: http://michiganmedicalmarijuana.org/topic/18150-need-your-grow-questions-answered-come-on-in/page__view__findpost__p__240967

your buckets can be on the floor or elevated, but they must all be sitting level and at the same height. raise one off the floor, you have to raise them all off the floor..... in order for gravity to work. i prefer to leave the plants on the floor and move the lights.

wrapping the buckets isnt really going to do all that much for keeping your water warm during lights off. you may need a space heater.... only way to know is take your water temp after lights out. how can i possibly know how cold your grow room gets at night??

no, i dont think you can have too many bubbles..... but there is no need to have so much water movement that your roots are constantly taking a beating. i have used nearly every multi-port air pump on the market. pick your model and i can probably tell you how many buckets/totes you can safely run.

^during lights off, the room gets to about 66 at the low, and during lights on 76 at its highest, but both extremes only happen for about an hour in the middle of each cycle....

The air pump I am planning on using is an EcoPlus ECO AIR 8....and I was going to run 8 individual buckets....I am up for suggestions and would be willing to use any 8 outlet pump or any combination of pumps to do the job...

i like to run a bit higher temps in veg.... but thats not gonna kill anything.

you have it down.

but, i would invest another $15 and get this pump: http://www.4hydropon...temNo=cgairpump

for 8 buckets or totes plus a control bucket you will be MUCH better off. 3x more air for $15 ......... you MUST see the advantage in that?? :thumbsu:

Thanks. The water is 1/3 well and the rest RO, tested out pure yellow to start with the nutes already added. Upped it with a full cc of pH Up per gallon, brought on a little green tinge. The runoff looked the same. It's definitely high 7's.
