so, kinda dealing with a mite issue as some of u know. been doing alot of research, asking a million questions, so i hope that i can resolve this issue asap. so last night I bought some 70% iso alcohol, this is to make a 50/50 mix of the alcohol and h2o. This is going to be used to wash my plants ( Per Bubblegrower :) ). The alcohol is supposed to kill mites on contact and loosen/ wash away eggs.

So , i made my wash and wash each of my plants in the alcohol wash, trying to make sure I get every single inch. I then let it sit for a couple min, then washed them off with clean H2O. I did this to each plant, and will continue to do so every 3rd day for about 14 days.

In addition to this, I found this article http://hightimes.com/grow/jcervantes/46 , he says that a freeze will kill most eggs :) Also earlier in the day someone told me about this and it worked for them, so as the temp was about 28 last night I set the ladies out for about 20 min ( I should have let them stay out longer), I will doo this again tonight, in hopes that it will help :) the tent was also bleached head to toe..but i will def keep u guys posted :) also doing regular neem oil sprays now ... so here are a few new pics:

it seems like the tall one is getting the worst of the mites, the damage isnt bad, but it far far far worse than on any of the other ones..

So, for my 3 pronged attack I now introduce EcoSmart organic insecticide. I had bought it when I thought I had thripes a few months ago, but it says it will kille mites and eggs so why not. I gave them all a good spray down . Keep switching it up on them so I hope they DIE. Lol

Wow!,

I just stopped in to check this thread out and I had to say NICE JOB! Your 1st grow turned out great!

Thanks for sharing your adventure.

By the way as the advice flows from all these great members I'd like to add my 2 cents worth on the mites.

No-Pest strips (approx $6 a piece) from places like Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Lowes and hang them in your grow area. Those evil little creatures won't survive a week in No-Pest vapor. So when they dissappear and your sure there gone you can put your pest strips in a zip-lock bag and save them for the next time an outbreak occurs. They don't smell and they kick aZZ.

I wouldn't just leave them hanging after the mites are gone because the strip has warnings on the label about human and animal exposure time limits. (About 4 hours a day)

Peace,

update time :jig:

i should be updating everyday but been kinda busy. The ladies r getting big :) ive seen no new mite damage, hoping it is under control... But it does look like i have some "burns" maybe on some of the leaves, i think its from the alcohol/water baths, maybe some didnt get rinsed off completely. if u guys think its something else let me know :) oh also, ive notice low humidity (20-35) so i put a small humidifier i had right by the intake on the tent, i really hope it helps :) trying to perfect my craft... so on to the pics and i have a ton of them

Those spots look just like the spots I have on my plants after I did the Sulfur burn. Thanks, by the way! :)

How long after the burn did they appear? My plants were infested with mildew, so they pretty much all browned up like that. I take that as a sign the Sulfur did it's work. I clip all those leaves, because they are essentially dead anyways (the powdery mildew had been snacking on them).

If I were you, I'd clip the leaves. I forget if you're in veg or flower, but I'd clip em' anyways.
