RIght now I am focusing on choosing keepers from the various Sour Bubble and Jack the Ripper phenos I have. Free Leonard is still here, but on the backburner for a minute. Trying out Sour Diesel and Grapefruit Diesel also. Looking forward to Burmese x Haze soon. I really like the Haze phenos of Jack the Ripper. It reminds me of what made me fall in love with smoking herb to begin with.

i am still learning to manicure better.

don't fret......... actually, you have already done WAY more than necessary.

after they have hung for a few days and the bud leaves dry up, manicuring becomes much easier.

this is one of those growers preference things....... but i prefer a slow dry. (i know you are in a hurry this time :) )

i pluck off the big fan leaves, chop the plant, and hang the entire plant when possible. or chop the plant in half/thirds whatever. i like to hang it big though.

this may add a day or two of dry-time, but it also allows the plant extra time to use up all its stored sugars as well.

i also do not like trying to trim wet buds because your scissors get all screwy/messy/sticky and you end up busting open trichomes and smearing THC all over the place.............. and exposing it to the elements.

i hang dry.......... and THEN trim.

just the way i do things..... you should give it a shot.

i know better than anyone that you are all stoked and you will be burning that in a weeks time :) .................. no shame at all.

but for future reference.........

I will Journal. Haven't decided if i should start another thread, or if i should just roll this one ad nauseum. Journaling is part of the fun! i can't tell everyone in my life, so it's good to get it out with people that can appreciate tasting the fruits of your own labor with the end of easing your pain in the greatest way possible!

Also, i tried a few different trim tricks with the plants i have harvested so far. The bubblegum i cut branch by branch, then hung and trimmed the biggest leaves and left all the others to dry along with the rest for almost 48 hours. Then, i laid them in a similar fashion as you described (HEREMy link) in a box with layers of paper in between. Then i took them out, manicured them for curing, and stole some of my beautiful wife's Mason Jars that didn't have her really good homemade applesauce in em, and started the curing process. This is turning out to be a really strong pheno with a wonderful yield and just a luscious Vanilla aroma and flavor.

sorry to keep reponding to my own post repeatedly. all this harvest time samplin has gotten me a tad forgetful!

So, as you can see with the Swampy's, at harvest time i snipped all of the major leaves, as well as many of the minor leaves while the rest of the plant was still in tact with the roots, in the pot. Then i cut the various branches, and hung, then trimmed further before curing.

The Romulan was a totally different girl. She was very branchy and had several medium sized colas instead of the few large ones her more indica-like step sisters are. that was the most labor filled one of the three.

looks like someone has the right idea already :) my thoughts exactly KB.

anyways 133gr33n, the reason i asked was for the better of the site.

i could care less either way if you start a new one, or keep this one going, but i am glad to hear you are going to keep journaling for us. :thumbsu:

i have no problems with people starting a new thread to run a single strain down. that way if a member wants info on one specific strain, they can hop in one journal and get it all without 10 other strains in the way to confuse and take up more time reading. like the folks who are doing the Dr. Greenthumb strains, or me with my Blueberry from DJ short.

but the reason i ask you is because you had so many strains, and so many plants to follow........... i just figured that if you do continue to journal, maybe you should just keep this one going since you will have more than one strain going? makes it much easier for folks to ask questions and chime in with praises as well.

maybe a little incentive here :) but if you keep this one going, i would like to pin it?

im pretty sure the community wouldnt mind either as you now have reached 2,000 views :):thumbsu::goodjob::sword: :sword:

 i had no idea many were even looking. feel free to pin. i will be doing multiple strains until i narrow it down to two that i can really farm well.

I am definitely keeping Swampy's Free Leonard in the rotation. Love that plant and everything about it. You can even Bonsai with it! Anyway, yield-wise i have no idea what the Swampy's is gonna end up at.

The BubbleGum looked great, smelled great, and had large buds. The total yield looks in the ballpark of only an ounce and a half. It seems that the buds were just not nearly as dense as they appeared. But the cure is not done. (does weight change over the cure - after the dry?)

The Romulan was a definite surprise. The meds ended up being much more powerful than expected. (The plant had very few visible trichomes, even at week 9 - day 60.) It also yield FAR more than expected. It had metric bunny muffin ton of smaller flowers that added up very well.

Have no fear gang. You WILL see more of the Cheese. She is just Gorgeous! I hope her meds and yield are everything that they appear to be.
