Good quotes everyone!

I like the one from Thomas Jefferson about fearing government. There's a lot of good quotes around here. I heard a real good line in a song from a Native American man named Bill Miller, I haven't heard the song in a long time, it was when I listened to a Native station online, was curious about their issues, I learned a LOT, heard some awesome music, too, met some wonderful people online also who explained their issues to me and taught me some very valuable things; well anyway, this line was, "The truth will bury the lies." I thought that was one of the most powerful statements I'd ever heard. Maybe I have it on a CD, I bought some of his music, too. Many of the "quotes" I think of come from songs, so I hope it's ok.

i forgot who said it ,something like"the tree of liberty needs to be feed with both the blood of tyrants and patriots.i forgot the exact quote but still remembered its meaning..lol.someone post it as it should be posted..zb

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.

The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is

wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts

they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,

it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...

And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not

warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of

resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as

to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost

in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from

time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It is its natural manure."
