My Dr. Quit Me Today Because I Have Mm In My System

My family dr. dropped me today because I have thc in my system! she Is a n.p and she said the m.d she works under will not let her see any patients who test pos for thc, yes I have my card, and I did ask them first for the recomendation, they would not do it. so i went else where, I have been going to the same office for over 10yrs, never had to do a urine screen till today, wasnt even given the opertunity to test again in a month, once they knew i had an mm registry card they said they cant see me no longer, They would rather me be on methadone and xanax, and cymbalta, flexirils. serequel,and mortrin 800, oh yea and cialis of course! go figure!

 

Is there anything in the law for this? not that i would even think of going back, im just not used to being let go by a dr. I usualy fire them, they quit on me! any opinions?

Brother, I hate to say it but you are better off. See if you can find another if you need other meds such as blood pressure, cialis, whatever the case my be. Personally I am trying to ween myself off six years of morphine and hydrocodone, as well as other meds I take for my other problems. I am sincerely hoping that I will never have to take that poison again. And believe me, it's harder than it sounds. This is my first time trying while on MM, and it's going much, much, much better. Last time my pain got so intense that I couldn't even sit up, not to mention the on going hic-ups I had before which makes the back just scream, well that and coughing or sneezing. Also, no sign of vomiting yet which is always hell just because it's usually nothing in the stomach to expel, and it hurts like hell at every heave. I know it's tough to find a doctor who is MM friendly, but they are out there. It's my hope, and my belief that you will find a doctor who isn't scared of working with you to manage your symptoms, no matter what treatment you decide you need. Keeping you in my prayers,

I have been 0ff of the meds, I did d.t for 8 days and than did one dose and od'd and spent 0ver 20 hrs in I,c.u old cold, this dr. told me i could have died being taken off of the meds cold turkey and she thinks she is making me go thru that again,,jokes on her i have been flushing them down the toilet, but there are some non narcotic meds i do need, blood pressure, blood flow.lol, but they didnt even want to see me period becuase im an mm card holder! it sucks finding a dr. that you are comfortable with, but i found this one and i will find another their loss, but i realy dont think it is rite!

I totally agree with you brother. I think there are a lot of docs out there that actually WANT to help, but are afraid. It's a darn shame.

 

What blows me away is all these docs that have no problem giving you the methadone, vicodin, etc., and think thats OK, yet are against marijuana? I just do not get that.

Man am sorry for ya i have not had that happen yet to me when this new Law started i had went to him first and ask for a Rec" because he is my hip Doc" /pain Doc" and i knew him for over 10 years so he knows every thing about me.

 

even knowing that i had gotten Busted for Marihuana anyways He told me that he worked for some one like a board or something and could not sign i was OK with that and he gave me my notes that i needed.

 

so i went to the THC-F and got my Rec" their Then i got Busted again but this time i was Legal then i went back to see him because i only go 1 time per year because of the cost$$ and every one their was talking about how they saw me on T.V /news they thought it was almost funny i did not think it was to funny then but now i do lol

I'm off all opiates but there are a couple of other things I take for seizures and fibromyalgia. He also will 'burn' the nerves in sections of my spine to help stop the nerve pain. I really need those things done.Anyone who can recommend a pain management doctor in Wayne County please let me know.

You can try dr. robertson he is on the edge of detroit and grosse pointe in wayne county on jefferson ave, his # is 586-585-9047 he doesnt take most ins, he does take auto ins if you were invovled in an accident, he is a real good dr imho, I wouldnt say anything about mm, he wont p test you if you dont act like a druggie or look like one, sorry please dont take offense, best if you bring him some records also, try and weed out the ones that mention mm, he is not into giving rec's he wont, but he will treat you if you have the rite condition, he is a spinal specialist! you dont need to use me as recomdation either, he will interview you, it is up to him, he dont care who refers you,

I would consider a report with the state medical ethics board. This doctor dropping you cold turkey while on addictive drugs sounds like a pretty clear violation of medical ethics. He is endangering you by forcing you into a very painful detox from the crap he prescribed.

Thank you. No offense taken about about how I should or shouldn't dress. I dress pretty conservatively because of my position with the township. I'm always concerned about ruining into my constituents and any negative consequences that could come up at the next election. I have records from 2002 to date from an injury....spine injury.

 

Yes there are docs that will p-test you now days...especially pain management docs.

To be quite truthful about all this it was the opiate addiction that made me open my eyes and start using MM. There is nothing like the experience of detox to make you not want to take oxycontin anymore. I actually have it sitting on my night stand and have no desire to take it...I guess it's a reminder of my detox experience. I was on 40mg 4 times a day along with 7 other meds. Well, if LEO comes knockin I will probably be the first elected official they will try to make an example of. I'm within my limits in fact my patients and I are under as far as plants and our 2.5 oz of product, but I still don't trust the system. It helps to make tinctures / hash when we get close to being over limits

I've made it a point to tell no one that I use MM and my 3 patients sign a form that prohibits them from telling anyone who their care giver is and if they do I drop them due to breech of contract. So far everything has been good. I've known my patients for about 15 years....family and very close friend.
