And people, you do realize, around 50% of the people in the MMj program are already poor and on medicaid right?

So as you sit here and degrade those that will benefit from this program or an already existing program, you are pissing off more than half of the people associated with the medical marijuana program right?

You are the minority.

I do not think that a certain group cares TBH

Most obama and obamacare supporters…simply are buying into the class warfare bs. That is what he wants..because he CAN NOT run on his record. I hear you all saying how this is so great and people that otherwise would not be covered will..NOTHING IS FREE…NOTHING..especially where government is concerned. I find it just absolutely mind boggling that being a MM site..where all the people here wish GOVERNMENT would get out of our way..and give us the right to choose..would then vote for bigger government…that's what obamacare really is…and many of the other things he wants to do..like the national police force..and so on. He is taking away people's right to choose..

For those here that support obama and obamacare…can you provide a list of his accomplishments since he was sworn in?? What policies has he put forth since taking office?? How have they benefited the people??

Obama Pondering National Police Force … Again?

The Daily Bell

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

The United States is probably the only nation that does not have national police. In the 1960s and 1970s, the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA) was created to achieve this goal. A counter move by concerned citizens was the “support your local police and keep them independent” movement. Older citizens may recall seeing bumper stickers and other advertising to that effect.

The LEAA was abolished in 1982. Today, a new movement is afoot to nationalize our local police by stealth. In the [2009] campaign,Barack Obama advocated “a civilian police to match the size and power of our armed forces.” More recently, Obama advocated enlarging the U.S. Marshal’s Service into a “stability police.” He is being assisted by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The group has convinced many local police and sheriff’s officials that conservatives are the enemy. – CJOnline

Dominant Social Theme: What the US needs is more law and order.

Free-Market Analysis: We have been commenting on the growing wave of “law and order” in the United States. And this letter to the editor, excerpted above, is surely another sign of it. There is so much ruin in the country (and the West) now that the powers-that-be are likely growing increasingly worried about civilian unrest.

They are, in our view, actively encouraging such unrest (so as to be able to shape it) but also, at the same time, they are suppressing unrest and seek to create further law enforcement bodies and quasi-military groups to ensure that civil unrest does not spread unchecked. One such group – in the US, anyway – would be a national police force.

This is only part of a larger authoritarian drive, however. The Anglosphere power elite that apparently wants to run the world (formally) is using the current economic chaos to prepare fundamental, Draconian “reforms” to the way US business and investing works.

US President Barack Obama’s persona and policies are surely tailored to this larger meme. Authoritarianism can be developed in numerous ways. We have, for instance, covered the new Pecora Hearings that we believe are being generated even now.

These hearings are not yet in evidence but we are sure they will be. In fact, secret efforts in Congress to set up such hearings have been reported by at least one alternative news website that then removed the article. But it seems obvious to us that these hearings are going to take place at some point.

The Pecora Hearings themselves took place in the 1930s. At that time, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt used them to blame the Crash of ’29 and the Depression on Wall Street. It was a classic case of misdirection, in our view – blame Wall Street for what the central bankers did and Fedgov covered up.

In reality, the Depression was likely caused by the New York Fed over-printing dollars – a policy that created first the Roaring ’20s and then the Depressed ’30s. FDR first shut down banks and then confiscated gold to ensure that US citizens wouldn’t find out there was not enough gold to redeem their over-printed dollars.

Now, in our view, the power elite is replaying this tactic. In order to create world government, it helps if governance in general is strengthened. This is taking place around the world even now via austerity measures and a campaign through the West to “punish corruption.”

The same patterns that made the 1930s such a tragic decade are being repeated as the 21st century faces its second decade. When government has too much power, things can go wrong very quickly. And then the temptation is to point fingers at the private sector to find a scapegoat. Here’s some more from the letter about setting up a national police force:

In 2008, the Missouri Highway Patrol was alerted that people who supported Ron Paul, Bob Barr, the Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, Second Amendment Advocates or the John Birch Society, or who were devout Christians, were potential terrorists … One of the most constitutional forms of local police is the constable system …. Support your local police. Keep them independent and working for the citizens.

Enlarging law enforcement may make it more “efficient” but certainly not better. The larger the amount of monopoly power a law enforcement agency has, the more damage it can do. Canada is experiencing this even now with its own national force, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

According to the Globe and Mail, the RCMP’s new boss, Bob Paulson, has his hands full. He’s got a sex controversy to deal with, first of all. “[it was] rekindled last week when a high-profile female British Columbia Mountie said she spent years being treated as a potential sexual plaything by some supervisors.”

Then there’s another grievance against the RCMP for “insults and threats” that was just affirmed by the organization’s independent review body some three years after charges were filed. The grievance is part of a larger “systemic failure to deal appropriately with harassment within the force,” according to Federal Public Safety Minister Vic Toews.

Meanwhile, a 2006 commission of inquiry said, “information the RCMP passed to the United States was likely responsible for Maher Arar being shipped to Syria, where the Canadian man was tortured into making false terrorism confessions.” And then there is the case of the confused Polish visitor who was tasered by Mounties at the Vancouver airport. That led to another inquiry.

In the US, Homeland Security’s TSA, a nationalized security force, is constantly embroiled in controversy over its tactics and the rationality behind some of its strategies. Most recently (and once again), the agency has been accused of strip-searching elderly people. The agency also faces considerable public protest over the scanners that it has installed, which may provide people with fairly high doses of radiation.

US President George W. Bush tried to set up a national police force and now the Obama administration apparently is making common cause with the Southern Poverty Law Center that has created an ideological template that can tie numerous civilian police forces into one larger entity.

Conclusion: Fortunately, these efforts are being resisted publicly and aggressively, as the Internet is continually making people aware of these authoritarian efforts. Obama has not yet been able to set up a formal national policing body. Maybe he will run out of time.

Mal, I like you man, I agree with you

And people, you do realize, around 50% of the people in the MMj program are already poor and on medicaid right?

So as you sit here and degrade those that will benefit from this program or an already existing program, you are pissing off more than half of the people associated with the medical marijuana program right?

You are the minority.

I like the way you think and put things into words, you are saying what a lot of us here wish we could put on paper, thank you for covering my arse.

Can you tell me what the republicans have done since the day he was elected? They were all about a one term president, they have and never will work for the good of the country while President Obama is in office.

Supreme Court Forces U.S. To Take A Giant Step Toward A Totalitarian Socialist Government

The United States of America took a giant step toward a totalitarian socialist government when the Supreme Court voted to uphold Obamacare, allowing the individual mandate for the government to force American citizens to buy health insurance whether they want to or not.

The Supreme Court should have their title changed to the Supreme Proletariat because, they've just done away with individual freedom and handed the president the ability to force the people of America to do whatever he decides they should do.

I personally thought it would take one more Supreme Court appointment before it reached the tipping point, but none other than Chief Justice Roberts went to the far left on this one and I have lost any faith I had in the court and feel that myself and people like me have no dependable representation in the federal government.

If they will vote to force people to buy insurance, they will vote to force you to do whatever they please, regardless of how destructive it is to our democracy and our freedoms.

I am bitterly disappointed in Chief Justice Roberts, when he was appointed I had great hope for the court because I thought he was a strict constitutionalist who would toe the line, holding to the original intent of it's framers, and there is no way on earth that they meant for the federal government to force an individual to buy anything.

The constitution is all about individual rights, that's what it was meant to protect, and in one fell swoop the Supreme Court has swept aside one of the basic and most important individual rights. They may try to soft soap it by calling it a tax but what it really amounts to is the federal government imposing it's will on the American public and sets a precedent for things we don't even want to think about.

Why didn't the court visit the other 2,700 pages of this bill that the Congress didn't even read before they voted it into law, the parts about enforcement, the parts that decide who lives and who dies, about creating new autocracies and the Internal Revenue Service's role. Is that all constitutional?

What about its effect on small businesses who are required to provide insurance for their employees if they have over 50 employees? One effect will be that they will not hire new employees and probably get rid of some they already have if it puts them over the limit and this will further add to the unemployment numbers.

What liberals are after is a single payer system where everybody's health insurance is controlled by the federal government. Before he was elected, he said that a single payer system is what he wanted, but that it would take some time to get the country there. That is the endplay and is nothing less than downright Marxism.

I know there are people who will read this column who will disagree with what I say and think that Obamacare is a good thing and that the Supreme Court was noble and right to uphold it.

Well, let me make you a prediction.

I am 75-years-old and may well not live to see Obamacare enacted in it's full power, but many of you will and most of our children will. My prediction, if the Lord tarries, you will disdain Obamacare and everybody who voted for it.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops, and for our country.

God Bless America

The mandate penalty is there to pay for the uncompensated care of the people that do not buy insurance. It costs billions of dollars every year. The tax is there to pay for that. You choose to not buy insurance and end up int he hospital, we pay for it now. This way, 'we" no longer have to pay for your, and people like you, healthcare cost for emergency treatment.

*shrug*

Its called personal responsibility.

You're not looking at the whole picture.

YaHoo !!! We all have medical coverage now, but in reality We all did anyways in one way or another. The New coverage will cost US more when government is involved in the process.

The Biggest problem with this ruling is it sets precedent for whatever the government thinks we all must have next.

Now the federal government can and will impose it's will on the American public. This ruling sets a precedent for things we don't even want to think about.

Why do we ignore the Obvious?

"How can an otherwise sane individual become so enamored of a fantasy, an imposture, that even after it’s exposed in the bright light of day, he still clings to it – indeed, clings to it all the harder? No amount of logic can shatter a faith consciously based on a lie."

~ Lamar Keene, a scam artist who posed as a psychic, describing why it was so easy to fleece people.

Homo sapiens is a creature of habit. Most people have a strong desire to do what they can to create a life (and lifestyle) that is comfortable for them. Once this is done, we curl up and settle in. We then may add the occasional improvement to this situation, but, otherwise, we prefer then to be left alone to maintain what we have created.

It should not, therefore, be surprising if, when that comfy situation is threatened, we wish the threat would simply go away. Similarly, it is understandable if, when that threat begins to grow, we may simply pull the covers over our heads and pretend the threat either does not exist, or is far more benign than it appears.

Hence, it is a perennial condition of human nature to behave as described by Lamar Keene, when we discover that the government that we have been brought up to believe exists for our protection, has become no less than the greatest threat to our well-being.

Consider the following events, with regard to the USA:

  • The Patriot Act (Passed in 2001 and extended in in 2011 with additional controls) expands law enforcement powers and removes civil liberties and constitutionally guaranteed rights. www.renewamerica.com/columns/webster/090419
  • The National Defense Authorization Act, passed on 31st December, 2011, allows the indefinite imprisonment by the military of any "suspects" (including American citizens on American soil) without allowing due process of law. www.en.wikipedia.org/nationaldefenseauthorisationact
  • The MAP-21 Bill, which allows the Internal Revenue Service to suspend the passport rights of Americans, based on the premise that their tax obligations may be unfulfilled. www.losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/IRSbill
  • The National Defense Resources Preparedness order, created in March, 2012, allows the President to take over control of all food, water, labour and industry in the US, "to promote national defense." www.naturalnews.com/035301/Obamaexecutiveorders
  • 30,000 Drones to fly over the US allowed by executive order, February, 2012, providing the government with an Orwellian surveillance ability and a killing capacity ranging from selected individuals to entire communities. www.wsws.org/articles/2012/jun2012/pers-j21.shtml
  • FEMA Interment Camps, to be constructed in every state, with 3 – 15 in each state, for an undisclosed purpose. www.americanthinker.com

  • Compounds to store "disposable coffins," each with hundreds of thousands of 4-5 person coffins stored near city centres around the country.www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERaw6AW7Zec

  • 450 million hollow point bullets ordered by the Department of Homeland Security To be used domestically. (The DHS is not responsible for addressing national invasions or overseas wars; it exists solely for the control of internal disorder. Hollow point bullets are not intended for sharpshooting – they are designed specifically to maximize tissue damage.) www.articles.businessinsider.com

The above are all actual occurrences. The reasons for them can be debated. (After all, the DHS may well have ordered 450 million rounds of hollow-point bullets because they were thinking of doing a bit of target practice. And the disposable coffins may be intended to be given out as grow-boxes on the next Earth Day.)

In fact, each of the above, conceivably could have been the product of well-meaning legislators, planning for what they conceived as "a better tomorrow." The trouble is, taken together, it is difficult to imagine that this may be the case. Indeed, taken together, they suggest the creation of a police state that rivals what Joe Stalin or Brother Adolf created.

Circa 1885, folk philosopher James Whitcomb Riley, said, "When I see a bird that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck."

At some point, when we observe a government that consistently institutes executive orders and legislation that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it behooves us to conclude that it is in fact, a duck. Is it possible that we may be proven incorrect? Yes, absolutely so. However, when the overwhelming evidence points to the unpleasant realization that our comfy life is soon to end, we would be wise to take preparatory action.

Just how many ducks does it take before we decide there are enough to call them a flock? If such a flock represents a significant and uncontrollable danger to us, we would be advised to get out of the way. In such cases, it is infinitely wiser to err on the side of caution.

Not long ago, I overheard a discussion between an American businessman and an associate from my own country. The American was describing the seemingly endless array of draconian laws and executive orders that have been coming his way, courtesy of his government, in recent years.

His associate said, "I have only one question: "Why aren’t you packing now?"

I have provided enough information in this thread to encourage thoughtful discussions.

I have more research to do, I tend too read 100 more times than I type.

Was taught long ago why we have two ears and one mouth, however with the invention of the world wide web we now use our eyes and brain which is 1,002 times more powerful than our 10 fingers.

Yesterday President Obama was caught on mic saying “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility” in a negotiation with the Russian government regarding our missile defense systems. Over the past three years the U.S. and Moscow have been in contentious negotiations over the U.S. missile defense systems in Europe. President Obama has promised that he would not weaken these defenses, but after yesterday’s comments many people are becoming afraid that the President intends to break these promises and weaken the defense of our country once the election is over.

Obama denies healthcare is a new tax on all americans

In this video Obama not only denies that Obama Care is a new tax on all Americans, hitting the middle class the hardest, but also calls what he’s doing a “campaign”. He’s the president that never grew up and became president. In his campaign for Health Care approval he’s pumping out the lies like never before: telling the American public one thing while convincing the courts of a completely different story.

Obama also tells George Stephanopoulos in the video below that he can’t just make up the language of a tax increase, so George goes to the dictionary, where Obama replies “your stretching”. Whereas Obama must not be stretching, but just ignoring reality to say that the government requiring everyone to pay something is not a Tax.
So after Obama made this effort to call ObamaCare anything but a tax the Administration will now seek to defend the law on the basis that it is a tax. That’s right the Administration is defending the new law as part of the government’s “power to lay and collect taxes.”

While once defined as a “penalty,” the cost of being uninsured is now embraced as a tax that is expected to raise $4 billion a year by 2017, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
The most telling moment is when Obama says, “My Critics Say I’m taking over every sector of the economy” and Stephanopoulos just looks at him like, yep. Can anyone reading this deny that he’s taken over GM and fired the CEO, bailed out large banks, taken over the Health Care industry with ObamaCare and he’s well on his way to taking over BP?
This President could care less about the Constitution, the public, or laws, as long as he can achieve his agenda.

Obama Sees Constitution As Obstacle

By: Warren Beatty

Rush Limbaugh has said many times that President Barack Hussein Obama views the US Constitution as an impediment, as an obstacle to be circumvented, to be worked around. Limbaugh said, “…The Constitution is Obama’s obstacle.” The latest Obama “accommodation” drove home the point that Obama really does see the US Constitution as an obstacle to tyrannical rule that he, and many liberals, want to impose.

For some insight into his current thinking, Obama, while in the Illinois senate, in a 2001 interview, said that the Chief Justice Earl Warren court failed to “break free from the essential constraints” in the US Constitution and launch a major redistribution of wealth. “It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution… that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.”

That thinking is exemplified by his “We can’t wait” campaign to circumvent the US Constitution, to bypass Congress, and do whatever he pleases to extend “positive” rights when he thinks they are required. If Congress and the US Constitution gets in his way or don’t give him his way, he ignores them. He says “We can’t wait” and does what he wants.

Article II, section 1, of the US Constitution clearly states about the president: “Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” That is the oath that Obama voluntarily took. Further, Article I, section 1, states “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.” So when he says “We can’t wait,” is he hiding behind the phrase “to the best of my Ability?” Does his ability include in what he believes? And how does he get around the phrase “faithfully execute the Office?” Does he think that he is faithfully executing his duties when he invokes his “We can’t wait” stratagem?

Here are some examples of his “We can’t wait” strategy and executive fiat:

In October, 2011, Obama, seeking to circumvent congressional opposition and to jump-start the economy, pushed a series of “executive branch steps,” beginning with “new rules” to make it easier for homeowners with little or no equity to refinance their federally funded mortgages, through Fannie May and Freddie Mac, which posted larger losses than expected, sought $6 billion in additional aid.

In July, 2011, Obama told the National Council of La Raza that the idea of “doing things” on his own was “very tempting” when it came to bypassing Congress on immigration.

In September, 2011 Obama told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus he’d like to work his way “around Congress.”

In July, 2011, during the debt limit debate, Obama asked lawyers if there was a way to interpret the 14th Amendment so as to get around Congress and establish a “long-term extension of the federal borrowing limit” on his own.

Before Obama was president he said he wanted to bankrupt the coal industry by imposing a cap and trade system that would be so harsh that “electricity costs would necessarily skyrocket.” Unable to get that bill through Congress, Obama bypassed them and used Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations to accomplish his goals. According to an analysis released in October, 2011, by the Institute for Energy Research, the EPA is “leading the Obama administration’s assault on coal with a number of new regulations.”

Blatant subversion: Lybia war – In Article I, section 8 (Powers of Congress) of the US Constitution, there is the phrase “To declare War…” But Obama said the US actions in Lybia didn’t amount to war, so he didn’t need the approval of Congress. And he ignored the War Powers Act.

His latest decree, announced by Kathleen Sebilius, Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), said that many church-affiliated institutions will have to cover free birth control for employees, even if that decree violated moral and ethical beliefs. Robbie George, law professor at Princeton, said, “They pursue this agenda with a religious zeal because, in fact, the ideology in which abortion is a “right” and “sexual freedom” is a core value is their religion.” That decree caused such an uproar that Obama had to “accommodate” it. The point here, however, is that once again Obama is trying to circumvent the US Constitution. Amendment 1 clearly states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;….” So again we see Obama, using HHS, trying to bypass Congress and the US Constitution. At least this time he didn’t try to hide behind “We can’t wait.” Was that the reason for his problems and eventual “accommodation?”

So anytime the US Constitution and Congress doesn’t let him have free reign, he simply says “We can’t wait.” The US Constitution and Congress are, indeed, an obstacle to him – and to his agenda.

I don't like politics at all, they cause great debates, but usally there is no winner.

All I can say about the topic is for me, myself, I now have insurance and can't be deined my medications and visits to the hospital on a monthly basis. Things that I could never afford before the ObamaCare law.

If that is a incorrect statement or I'm wrong thinking this way please help me better understand, because that was the impression I was/am under at this moment.

Pre-exsisting condition = Can't be denied insurance or health care?

Poor = Medicade/care?

Under 26 years old you can stay on you parents insurance plan?

If you currently have insurance you aren't affected and continue on your same plan?

If you don't have insurance, and don't want it you pay up to a $2,000 dollar a year tax?

Next to all that is my question w/o politics involved, Do I now have coverage to see my Dr. on a regular basis, and also have coverage of my life saving medications that I could not afford if I didn't now have insurance through this new Law.

Thanks,

Trix
