Mid Michigan Outdoor Harvest _ First Time

Recommended Posts

I am in mid Michigan and the next 10 days the temps are going to be 65-68 highs and 40-44 lows. I am about 7-8 weeks into flowering, and they are too big to move inside. Will the plants be ok or will the temperaturs ruin them. The are about 7 to ft high. will post pics if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanx for headups on forecast.  why not warm them with water?

place a tall stake in center of grow.  mount a lawn sprinkler atop the post. adjust so in its course of travel it wets every plant.  Turn the water on all nights forecast under 40 f.

in this method you are putting water around 55f on the plants and preventing frost damage.

It all depends on what strains they are.  some sativas can take frost every nite and they'll thaw in the sun and do fine. Some are more prone to botrytis  Some don't like the cold and will get weak where botrytis, powdery mildew and septoria can take over.  It all depends on the genetics.

GM's suggestion of a tent or umbrella to keep all water off is a great idea.  Depending on where it is you could run a generator and small 600wt heater in a tent with the bottom cut out.  Lot's of things you can do it all depends on how far you want to go if you don't know the resistance level of the strains.

stay away from fast growing hybrids & plant a natural November harvest generation weed outside. you'll avoid problems with mold pest & weather

How would a plant that goes till November be better than a fast flowering hybrid that finishes at the end of September? And why did you cut all your braches off like that? Looks horrible, and probably cost a lot of yield. Just trying to understand your process, not trying to flame you

The video shows extensive mite damage, and it was likely that the rest of the buds were damaged beyond repair. I've done this before with a Blue Dream. Sometimes it's better to get a little something good ,rather than nothing at all.
