Komorn Law recommends keeping medical marijuana card and protections.

    By Michael Komorn

After the legalization of marijuana in Michigan, some patients are thinking they could stop paying the state $100 for the special mmp card , and just use the recreational marijuana law to grow their medicine. A patient with a registered card can use the ultimate defense and immunity to avoid a driving under the influence charge. Only adults 21 or over are protected by the new legalization law, but no one yet knows how the new law will affect driving privileges. Is the zero toleran

Making A Federal Case Out Of Marijuana

    By Michael Komorn

Our client, a medical marijuana patient registered with the State of Michigan, was out for a boat ride and some fishing on his friend’s boat. What started out as a glorious day with intentions of sun and fishing on the Detroit river later turned into federal charges of possession of marijuana (21 USC 844, 21 USC 844a) when a Border Patrol agent pulled up to them and wanted to search their vessel.   Related: Michigan law regarding marijuana manufacture, delivery, and possession   The federal

Michigan is licensing marijuana businesses but they still cant use banks.

    By Michael Komorn

LANSING, MI - It was chilly on the morning of Dec. 15., but Michigan State Police stood outside a state office building. They were there for safety, ready, as the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation opened its doors, for some applicants to show up with the $6,000 application fee in cash.     Michigan lawmakers authorized a new medical marijuana industry in 2016, and the state began accepting applications to be a part of it on Dec. 15, 2017. But businesses seeking inclusion

    By Michael Komorn

As this news hit in the last throes of 2017, it seems appropriate to take a step back and understand why exactly marijuana was banned all of those years ago. Annoucing The Opening Of Compassionate Apothecary.

I would like to announce the opening of Compassionate Apothecary in Mt. Pleasant, MI.   "A [club]/collective should be an organization that merely facilitates the collaborative efforts of patient and caregiver members – including the allocation of costs and revenues. As such, a [club]/collective is not a statutory entity, but as a practical matter it might have to organize as some form of business to carry out its activities. The [club]/collective should not purchase marijuana from, or sel

Mdch Card Errors

A paid member of Berrien County Compassion club received a caregiver card last week after submitting registry paperwork mid-December (4-months). The card had an issue date of January 2010. The problem is that the card's expiration date is listed as 2/1/2010. Card expired before being received.   Errors such as this cause huge delays and prevent patients from obtaining medicine; and subject caregivers and patients to potential legal issues. Senator Ron Jelinek has been emailed seeking his assis

Missing The March

Sadly, I missed the March in Lansing today. I was loaded in the car and headed towards the highway, but the trip was just too much. It would have been basically like driving to Chicago for an hour by the time I was underway.   Finished working last night around Midnight and closed up and closed out at 1 AM.   I also passed on the BBQ this evening. It was cold, and I'm done for the week.     I'm glad I was able to work 48 hours virtually back-to-back, starting and ending the day with

Alice B. Toklas Brownies: The Recipe!

Anyone here remember the famous Alice B. Tolkas Brownies? This recipe came to mind today while looking for something new to create with MM. I've included a little history on how this most famous recipe came about. These are very good.....     It all started when Alice signed a contract with Harper's to write a cookbook in 1952. She was a pretty fair cook, but what Harper really hoped to get wasn'tt so much recipes but tales of her life with Gertrude Stein, who had died in 1946.   With the

Tincture/cannamist Recipe

This is another one of my goodies I've been making for some time now. This recipe has been passed around for a few years and I really don't know who developed it. But what I do know is it works!   Tincture/Cannamist Recipe: Pack a mason jar loosely but completely with *****converted cannabis***** product; add a few sprigs of fresh organic mint. Add alcohol (50% is preferred, but 40% vodka works just fine) until the jar is full. Seal, shake and put in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks. After

This Tea Sure Has A Kick.

I shouldn't have underestimated the Power Plant. Nothing special.   yeah right.   best visuals in years! straight through the vape. kind of reminiscent of a certain magical mushroom.   To be fair, I was toking a bud from the main cola of some great gear previously, and it was a bud near the top of the Power Plant. But, I can't pick the whip back up, and it's ear to ear smiles and it's very visual.   There's probably a salad bowl effect happening, but if this is the Power Plant, I LOV

Gro Blue

If there's one store I can recommend in Ann Arbor, it's Gro Blue.   It's perfect for the hobby grower or new medical grower. The shop sells in quantities suited towards the individual grower or possibly the dorm room grower.   They sell small hydroponic systems and starter sizes of many different nutrients, amendments and supplies.   The staff is highly knowledgable.   I purchased earth worm castings, air stones, food grade PH down and a variety of other small products, all for under $2

The Cannabis Culture

The one thing I don't like when it comes to growing, it's The Culture.   I love plants. I love growing. I love the sense of inner peace it creates. I love my garden.   The growing culture is entirely the opposite. It's snobby, childish, pretentious and often absurd.   This is the reason I love my Compassion Club, for the most part, at its core, it's none of those things.   Last month I defended the illegal growers and suggested they be given their gratitude and respect, for without t
