The Impact Of 4851, 4853, 4856, & 4834

Recommended Posts

I don't, the reason is that it really doesn't take much of my time, it is an opportunity to learn from the patient their experience with strains and methods of use, and it is a good way to keep in contact with the patient.

The main reason I offer the free follow up is to STRONGLY encourage patients to take advantage of the follow up, make their chart complete, and protect them if questioned in court. Really it is free, why would anyone NOT want to do the follow up? Just a matter of a little time, I'm giving you mine, give me a little of yours. And have a cup of coffee with me while you do it. You know many docs that do that for patients? This isn't new for me.

But remember what Timmah and the others like to say, I hate patients, don't know what I am doing, and am only in it for the money....lol

People if your not seeing your dr. at least 4 times a yr, you dont have a qualifying condition (JMO) I use to see my dr. every month, now i see her every 3rd month, 4 times a yr unless I need to see her ,more! If your a pt with qualifying conditions, I would think your seing your dr at least a few times a yr, I see my primary care just about every month, I see my specialist once every 90 days!

Peace, Happy Hollidays!

If your condition is severe enough to require cannabis, it should be severe enough to seek professional medical care once in a while. In other words, if it doesn't bother you enough to get medical treatment once in awhile, why do you need cannabis for it?

Not my argument, just the one I have to counter from prosecutors. Seeking care is proof of severity to me and that's why I require records to document it. It protects patients from that attack by prosecutors.

This is about follow-up care though, right? This is after you give me the cannabis recommendation, I am using the cannabis, it is working for me, and I am comfortable.

Why, if not for this new legal snare, would you make another appointment to see that doctor?

Because good doctors like to know how their treatments are working and adjust if necessary.

And exactly WHAT snare are you talking about wash? It is the doctor's responsibility to plan for follow up, not the patient. And given that the medical board put these standards out a year ago last summer, they are nothing new, and as noted, are a routine part of medical care.

There is no requirement for a patient to come in, if you don't want to, that is your business. Folks don't keep follow up appointments all the time. Simply by having a procedure in place for follow up, patients are protected as the physician has a reasonable expectation the patient has an opportunity to follow up.

When you look at the 'unaccesible from the interior' language, written by law enforcement, you see that it was designed to make it so you can't legally smoke/vape/etc in your car anymore. I can't see how you could ever do that again legally. So the impact of that bill made it so all medical cannabis medicating will be prohibited in your car. Since that is what the impact is then that must have been the intent.

I started to make a suggestion to LARA.

That they actually track what works and what doesn't.

Perhaps a couple 0-10 questions on the renewal form?

Thoughts?

Would be an excellent idea for chronic pain. HOWEVER, when Redden came out in 2010 the first thing I did was call the director of the MMMP for some guidance or suggestion as to what we should have for a bona fide relationship. The response was 'we just check the forms' and 'we don't even read the remarks'.

They don't care, they aren't behind the program, the only reason they got the printer to get the card out was this set of bills and a threatened lawsuit, same goes for the new condition panel. They will have to be forced to do anything.

The better alternative is for one of the certification doctors to do a study. I will but need to get some database issues taken care of first.

but yeah, follow up isnt defined. have a follow up appointment with your doctor and hope its enough to escape the wrath of the prosecutor.

and then spend your time fixing the law by talking to you reps.

Follow up is UP TO THE DOCTOR and as long as there is a reasonable plan, that is that.

Is what the Judge and PA say that matter

The PA can challenge it. But it is on the Dr. The Judge can make any ruling they want, or the Jury. All we do is give the best case we can. All you can do is make sure your case is as solid as possible. Been giving good recommendations on how to do that for some time now. Guess it is up to everyone to decide if it is time to start listening to what people like me are saying. Been right for the most part so far.

I have some MSAccess experience from my past life, so doubt if you are using this, but let me know if I can help or if there is a specific issue.

I agree here 100%. It's a simple as LEO pulling over a perp and seeing a joint in an ashtray. With this new clarification it doesn't come down to a debate of when it was smoked, it being there is enough for an infraction. Would I be to bold to think this infraction would be an open door to a DUI/DWI check?

What advice would you have for SUV owners like myself? What kind of locked enclosure makes sense?

I like the volcano case. I can put 2.5 in there with my volcano and lock it.

Ok this statement confuses me, maybe I been looking at things the wrong way, I have spent so much time in physical therapy, pain clinics. dr.'s office in the last 13yrs, I dont have a clue how much times ive spent in facilitys trying to get my self better, I dont not want to be on any pharmicuticals at all, I of course didnt mind getting certed for mm when I discovered it worked and wouldnt kill me, :bong7bp: but my dr. visits didnt just amazingly stop! so once you get your mm cert and feel better you dont need to see a dr. any longer, just once a yr for mm, dam why didnt I think of that? :judge: Why am I going to a dr and sharing my experience with the use of mm and not getting most of my meds, i dont get any opoids or addictive meds any longer, it dont mean I dont need other meds for other reasons, even if the mm was this cure all that well washtenaut is claiming, dont you think your dr. would want to know if it is doing you good or bad,,Oh yea I forgot most pts are a lill younger :mom: (I no their are many real qualifying pts, young and old) and once they get their cert/card they dont have to worry for a yr, its 2 now eh! Im happy for that, just one less appt I have to do and less money i pay the state to do my meds unless every one Dr,'s and the State are going to double their price, that will work I finaly found my ssdi award letter so double will be only 50 there for me instead of 200, id rather give it to some one that works for a living any how (a dr. works, they work to be a dr. and then they work when they become a Dr.) I guess there are alot of people who think a dr. that gives free follow up visits is just rich and trying to launder their pharmicutical kick backs :drinking-coffee: I dont know to many people that have disabilitys or sugar diabetes, or any kind of heart pt, who dont have follow ups, are you all gonna tell me if your back is all screwed up all you do is get meds for it, no visits,,oh wait you have to visit once a month for them powerful pharmicuticals, they cant do refillls, oh man I feel bad for everyone that has to go to the dr. once amonth for their oxci's,,,If a pt living at home with home health aids helping him, that pt would be getting visits at their home and occasionaly when something is wrong the have to go to the dr. or hospital!

Hmmmm, so I dont need to see a dr. but once every 2 yrs now Awsome!

yep dr's are next, bonifide dr. pt realationship, once every 2 yrs will work! bawahahahahahah! get real!

Peace

Jim
