Don’t Beauregard that joint my friend.

    By Michael Komorn

Attorney General Jeff Sessions January 4th memo regarding marijuana enforcement is historic... and it should promptly be consigned to the dustbin of history. Mr. Session’s very name is a history lesson. Like his father and grandfather, he was named after Jefferson Davis, the first and only president of the Confederacy and P.G.T. Beauregard, the first prominent general of the Confederate Army. These were the men who lead the people of Alabama in their desire and purpose to join the “slave-holding

Best lawyer for possession of marijuana in Michigan! Victory!

    By Michael Komorn

Patients and Caregivers are discriminated upon in many facets of life, be it employment, housing, education, student loans, banking, travelling, medical care, prescription medical care, parental rights... and in this case, Emergency Medical Care!   My client is a Michigan Medical Marijuana patient who was having an emergency. An ambulance picked him up, and against his hospital preference, the ambulance took him to the U of M Ann Arbor Hospital.   While at the hospital, the p

Making A Federal Case Out Of Marijuana

    By Michael Komorn

Our client, a medical marijuana patient registered with the State of Michigan, was out for a boat ride and some fishing on his friend’s boat. What started out as a glorious day with intentions of sun and fishing on the Detroit river later turned into federal charges of possession of marijuana (21 USC 844, 21 USC 844a) when a Border Patrol agent pulled up to them and wanted to search their vessel.   Related: Michigan law regarding marijuana manufacture, delivery, and possession   The federal

Victory against unconstitutional search and seizures.

    By Michael Komorn

Komorn Law PLLC is proud to report another complete dismissal of all charges for our client. These past few months we have attained a high rate of dismissals of our client’s cases.   In this case our client was charged with allegations of felonious marihuana conduct; the case involved the definition of a medical marijuana plant in the law. More specifically, whether or not the plant was producing food from photosynthesis and was “living”.  Of course, the prosecutor wanted to fight abo

    By Michael Komorn

During a committee meeting on House Bill 4158, a bill to reform asset forfeiture, House Committee member Triston Cole tried to find any possible way to attack Komorn's client testimony. Finally turning the questions around on Mr. Cole and defending his clients, once

Pain Numbing Indica Or Sativa?

I've read that Indica is a full body, numbing, beavis and butt head watching buzz. Whereas Sativa is more of an uplifting, creative thinking, day time smoking buzz. When it comes to head and neck pain, sounds like Indica is the winner, but what about daytime smoking. What strains of Sativa would be the best or would a mix of say Blueberry at 20/80 or White Widow of which is 40/60 Sativa to Indica would be best. I'm sure it's more opinion based, and if you have one I would like to hear it...

Introduction

Greetings to all. I thought it would be fun to post my findings in my journey to learning how to grow. Its hard enough learning how to grow when it comes to the basics. For some, it probably came easy. Not for me anyway. Medical grade strains being the "new and improved" in contrast to the good old days of high school nickel baggies. Quality not being a huge issue, at least at my high school. So, I'm a patient listed as my own caregiver planning to learn how to grow. I would like to add

Week Two

So I got a few clones from a local respected organization and I brought home the clones, transplanted them and they are doing great! I have started nuts on their week two as I started out with a mix of farm fox and happy frog soil. I have them in a 1000 MH reflective hood and a 4x4 tent at 18-6 light cycle timed. I check them twice a day and I am pleased.   I also however bought clones elsewhere and while they are rooted well, after transplant I have noticed them start to wilt. I am discourag

Michigan Cannabis ( Marijuana ) Patient Considers Thc Testing For Drivers

The last and current Attorney General's let Michigan down when they didn't interpret clear uniform policy for communities to follow that complied with the MMM Act's intentions assimilating patients into society in a manner that kept them as productive and included as possible . They should not let personal views interfere . They should of helped create workable law on med ables , stopped this discontinuance of adjunctive medications , medical care or routine just for program participation , r

Even More Dazed And Confused

Published: Friday, March 18, 2011 11:17 PM EDT As if Michigan’s medical marijuana law wasn’t hazy enough, a recent statement by Attorney General Bill Schuette and a decision by two Traverse City judges make the situation even more confusing.     According to an article by the Associated Press, Schuette is urging the state appeals court to reverse a decision that could help a medical-marijuana user beat a driving offense.     The article states two judges have refused to instruct a jury t

Michigan Cannabis Patient Agrees With Mi. Attorney General Bill Schuette

It just keeps coming up in Conversation . People are asking how can we deride the fragmentation that is occurring within the medicinal cannabis movement . Compassion Vrs Profit . It is a good topic to repeat over and over in our minds and deeds .   I hate to say it but after looking at the entire situation I agree with Bill Schuette on one concept . The battle line is over the legalization of Cannabis for everyone but the treatment of medicinal and recreational users must be delineated and re

Medical Cannabis Terminology

I have been absent from these boards for several months for a number of reasons, chief among them, the lack of an internet connection in my ultra-rural, northern Michigan compound. While I have been fairly isolated, I have stayed in touch with the goings-on by slipping into town under cover of darkness to periodically surf the web. I've noticed that some posts, and many news stories use words that have a different meaning from the word the author was looking for, and I will attempt to clarify th

Lots Of Complaining, No Real Solutions: Time To Re-Frame The Dialog

Hello everyone in this great and ever growing community of individuals fighting to establish sensible medical marijuana law in this great state! I have not posted in a long time and was disappointed to return to the blog portion of this sight and still see a lot of non-sense and simple questions being posted to the blog. Those questions are best kept in the forum where they belong. The blog area should be exclusively for the presentation of useful information or fruitful discussion on topics

Michigan Senators Version Of Sb99 Falls Short For States Medical Marijuana Patients

This week a Michigan Senate passed re write amending past legislation (SB99) failed to fully take into consideration the practical needs of Medical Cannabis patients in Michigan within the passed Senate version .Senator Bert Johnson (D) was a lone undecided vote otherwise our Senate voted 37-0 .   Since their re - writing this bill you would think now is the time to make it correct for the current medicinal cannabis patient situation that did not exist when the original was written . .
