Michigan is licensing marijuana businesses but they still cant use banks.

    By Michael Komorn

LANSING, MI - It was chilly on the morning of Dec. 15., but Michigan State Police stood outside a state office building. They were there for safety, ready, as the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation opened its doors, for some applicants to show up with the $6,000 application fee in cash.     Michigan lawmakers authorized a new medical marijuana industry in 2016, and the state began accepting applications to be a part of it on Dec. 15, 2017. But businesses seeking inclusion

    Medical Marijuana Victory in Clarkston!

    By Michael Komorn

Komorn Law, PLLC and Attorney Allen Peisner are proud to report the well-deserved dismissal of all marihuana charges for a young man and his family. We are proud about this one for many reasons. It is well understood that this jurisdiction (Clarkston - in the heart of Oakland County) is not known to be friendly to medical marijuana patients. In fact, in this venue at the arraignment, this particular Judge as a matter of practice tells the presumptively innocent patient that they must decide if t

Victory against unconstitutional search and seizures.

    By Michael Komorn

Komorn Law PLLC is proud to report another complete dismissal of all charges for our client. These past few months we have attained a high rate of dismissals of our client’s cases.   In this case our client was charged with allegations of felonious marihuana conduct; the case involved the definition of a medical marijuana plant in the law. More specifically, whether or not the plant was producing food from photosynthesis and was “living”.  Of course, the prosecutor wanted to fight abo

Poll: Michigan Voters Would Back Medical Marijuana Law Again Published: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 5:20 Pm Updated: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 5

GRAND RAPIDS – A recent poll showed that Michigan voters would again approve the state's medical marijuana law.   The poll, conducted by Marketing Resource Group, Inc., showed that 59 percent of voters would approve the law, while 35 percent would not. Two percent leaned toward approving, while 2-percent leaned against.   The poll results were announced by Marijuana Policy Project, which helped draft the law. In November 2008, 63-percent of voters approved medical use of marijuana.   “This

Mmj Marching Band For May Rally: We're Putting The Band Back Together.

In the Forums I've seen some members express interest in playing Taps, The Star Spangled Banner, and some Sousa marches to support the Veterans Honor Guard at the May Rally. So, I'm putting out the call to ask members to take up instruments in the march on the state's capitol. Looking for woodwinds, brass, drums, etc. Blueberry has approved this activity, stating "I love the idea!" If you are interested please PM me. Let anyone you know that plays who may be interested in joining.   I sti

Rick Jones Michigan Senate And Some Patients Attitudes Supporting His Medical Marijauna Legislation Bill 17 With It's Support Logic Perplex Patient

It is hard to have a opinion different then so many here but because I love my fellow patients as myself I feel these words must be shared . So many of us are so vulnerable and weak we are willing to give up rights out of fear hoping to avoid confrontation or change . It will occur where ever lines are drawn - we must accept it and politely fight for what is moral and correct .   Rick Jones recently released a draft of Michigan Senate Bill 17 to disallow patient's right to assemble and use t

I Had Been Asked To Do A Medical Marihuana Presentation

I had been asked to do a medical marihuana presentation. This was not a big deal being I had been doing presentations for two years. What makes this presentation different is the audience. I was not speaking to the general public, but college professors, critical thinkers, anti-drug activists, and politicians. I’d written out the points I wanted to stress upon. This is my presentation.     I heard that I was a pothead who was manipulating medical use as an excuse for legalization. I stated th

Drug Forfeiture Law - Is Innocence Or Guilt Always Involved ?

As a part of my community I just would like to hear all the details in some of these cases against those in my State - but that is not part of the process . There is no impetus for a court hearing or openness of facts under this law .   It costs $15000 to defend against a forfeiture that doesnt require charges or a court hearing , and any defense against it is all on the person whose belongings were taken . They are assumed guilty . Law Enforcement just needs a few forms and search warrant f

We Are What We Eat!

How often have you heard, " We are what we eat?" I've been reading about diet, we 're getting too much protein, causing many diseases, cooking mutates the things we need, too much protein plus the uutated stuff gets stored, causes colon cancer and other problems, calcium won't store, bones get brittle, more fruits and veggies will fix all this. I read all this in a group I'm in, link don't work so a member posted the article, it's long, but interesting. Basically it says to eat live food

Bay Medical Traverse City

I went to my first collective today, Bay Medical at 803 Garfield in Traverse City. Being that this was my first time at such an establishment I was a bit nervous because I don't have my card yet, just paperwork. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by a polite girl who said that yes they do accept paperwork. With that I also showed her my ID and had to sign an affidavit stating that I was indeed a registered MMJ patient and my paperwork was not falsified. Then from there I followed a

The 3M A Did This!

Under the Michigan model, a compassion club is an outlet for education. It is not a store or a place to buy and sell marihuana. I believe the main factor in compassion club being lumped in the same category as dispensaries and social outlets is because the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association has allowed for dispensaries and the like to be sanctioned as compassion clubs under the 3MA’s umbrella.   It was also the 3MA that made caregiving a business by announcing that a person could make $50

YOU GUYS GOTTA CHECK OUT WHAT EVEN SOME OF THE NATIONS LAW ENFORCEMENT ARE TURNING TO. IT COULD BE ONE OF OUR GREATEST DEFENSES IN "HEMP HISTORY" (now i get they are not advocates for med-mj...but they understand that the U.S. GOV. is declairing war on the public for this medicine for personal gov. gain)...they profiteer from minor civil raids and destroy the family structure of our nation by collapsing homes across our FREE nation for minor amounts of marijuana and these days most of the seizur

And So It Begins... Week One.

A week ago Monday I began the process of my first grow. Both nervous and excited I went into this task after tons and tons of research. I decided to germinate my seeds by using the soaking method and in 48 hours they sprouted, six strains in all. From there I put them in dirt in solo cups and into a hot house under my aerogarden for light while my grow room is nearing completion. I now have six little babies growing (I posted a few pics in my gallery)!!! Fingers crossed and hoping lots of go

Do $15 Medicinal Soda's Fit Patient Needs ?

People have discussed this issue with person's who hold a college degree with honors . That have taken the math required to graduate from any business school , macro and micro economics ; yet they cannot see where this helps patients in the short term . Where will patients sacrifice from their limited incomes to buy Cannabis soda at $15 a can ? Maybe I am wrong but often I feel so much effort has truly bypassed medicinal interests and gone on to fit market segment's that would only exist in

Cannabis Patients Reply To The Governors State Of The State Address .

Cannabis patients listened to Rick Snyder's State of the State address last night . The Governor a businessman had a self professed desire to reduce the inefficiencies in Michigan Government policy . Yet, there was no reference to how the State spends more on it's prison system then it does on it's school's and the wasted lives of many Citizens being introduced into it for victimless crimes at a huge operating cost to our State and them over their entire lives . Actions that have the effect of p

From: Taking Some Response Ability For Yourself

So So nice to know I am not alone on this matter. The past year has been a journey of too many choices and strains that work on the different pains and brains. I have 33 varieties going for 5 of us. Tis crazy and sometimes a patient wants to insult the grower! I tell them each seed is an idividual just as we as humans are an idividual and only the "Creator" can decide the strength and influence it has on one's body. If we would look as this "caregiver" as a Physicians Assistant and only can hope

A Secret Life..

Hello Everyone,   I am starting this blog with hopes of connecting with others in the medical marijuana community. I am a patient who has been suffering for years with major back problems. I was in a car accident when I was a teenager, the result being damage to my spinal column. Marijuana helps me make it through my days without pain.     I titled this blog "A Secret Life". Because that is what I live. I am a mother of a large family. I spend my days taking care of a house and raising chi

So ... Now What - Lawful Doesn't Mean Legal

"When a cause comes along and you know in your bones that it is just, yet you refuse to defend it - at that moment you begin to die, And I have never seen so many corpses walking around talking about justice."   I suppose I should preface my remarks here by saying that - NO one is paying me a retainer and you should feel no more inclined to believe/follow or do anything I tell you here- more than you do say reading foxnews. I speak plain english, very plain and direct - I occasionally swear a

Jury Trial

Okay, It's been awhile since I've been on here and I'm not exactly familiar with all the new features so I hope I'm posting this right...   Some of you older members may remember me, I was robbed at gunpoint in Clarkston, it seems Bouchard has reffered to me in some of his writing, however inaccurate his refferences may have been, after I reported the robbery and that my meds were some of what was robbed they opened an investigation which led to the raid of my grow room. Health Freedom- Thoughts And Links

Every day our right to choose the health care we want is being eroded,. Knowledge is Power, we must stay informed and active. Here I will list info that may help. I don't have permission from these sites to directly link them, so you'll need to copy and past them into your browser.   Health Freedom is OUR RIGHT, we must know our rights and assert them or we'll surely lose them. The HIPPA is one way we can do that, not only for MM, but regarding privacy and doctors, the following also has many
