Michigan is licensing marijuana businesses but they still cant use banks.

    By Michael Komorn

LANSING, MI - It was chilly on the morning of Dec. 15., but Michigan State Police stood outside a state office building. They were there for safety, ready, as the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation opened its doors, for some applicants to show up with the $6,000 application fee in cash.     Michigan lawmakers authorized a new medical marijuana industry in 2016, and the state began accepting applications to be a part of it on Dec. 15, 2017. But businesses seeking inclusion

Senator Gillibrand slams Big Pharma on opioids and marijuana issues.

    By Michael Komorn

Senator Calls Out Big Pharma For Opposing Legal Marijuana Tom Angell A prominent Democratic U.S. senator is slamming pharmaceutical companies for opposing marijuana legalization. "To them it's competition for chronic pain, and that's outrageous because we don't have the crisis in people who take marijuana for chronic pain having overdose issues," Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York said. "It's not the same thing. It's not as highly addictive as o

Years of blood, sweat and tears to get Autism as a Qualifying Condition in the MMMA.

    By Michael Komorn

We have come a long way from 2013, when a parent submitted the first petition to add Autism as a qualifying condition within the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. It was ultimately rejected due to a lack of any research materials and testimony. http://komornlaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Final_Determination_Autism_436526_7.pdf In 2014, a Parent tried to submit a new Autism petition with some testimony about physicians treating Autism patients who qualify due to also having epile

Best lawyer for possession of marijuana in Michigan! Victory!

    By Michael Komorn

Patients and Caregivers are discriminated upon in many facets of life, be it employment, housing, education, student loans, banking, travelling, medical care, prescription medical care, parental rights... and in this case, Emergency Medical Care!   My client is a Michigan Medical Marijuana patient who was having an emergency. An ambulance picked him up, and against his hospital preference, the ambulance took him to the U of M Ann Arbor Hospital.   While at the hospital, the p

Making A Federal Case Out Of Marijuana

    By Michael Komorn

Our client, a medical marijuana patient registered with the State of Michigan, was out for a boat ride and some fishing on his friend’s boat. What started out as a glorious day with intentions of sun and fishing on the Detroit river later turned into federal charges of possession of marijuana (21 USC 844, 21 USC 844a) when a Border Patrol agent pulled up to them and wanted to search their vessel.   Related: Michigan law regarding marijuana manufacture, delivery, and possession   The federal

If You Wondered Why Our Federal Government Is So Hard On Cannabis Use, It’S Because Of A Treaty Agreed To In 1961

I only presented the parts I felt applied to the web site. The highlights are mine.   Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961 The adoption of this Convention is regarded as a milestone in the history of international drug control. The Single Convention codified all existing multilateral treaties on drug control and extended the existing control systems to include the cultivation of plants that were grown as the raw material of narcotic drugs. The principal objectives of the Convention are

We Need Everyone

Let's face it, we are in for the fight of our lives. It not only is with the Michigan Medical Marijuana Law but it also deals with the very thread of our constitutional fabric. If we allow and sit on the side then we will get what we deserve but not what we want. We have an opportunity at this time and that window will close if we do not take action as a whole.   Writing our state representatives and calling them will force them to address the concerns of their constituents. We have to take ac

Sog Flushing Help

Any growers with successful SOG methods for flushing i would like to hear them. I plan on making a small table, running only PH H2O, molasses, & a drop of dish soap. I plan on doing this for 72 hours & keeping the plants in total darkness. i will check the PPM of the solution before i add plants & continue to monitor until the level is close to the original level. I do understand tric development, so they have a few days until the go to flush. Also i run weak solutions, hardly ever o

Follow-Up To My “I Am Not A Michigan Medical Marihuana Act Expert” Blog

This is written as a follow-up to my “I am not a Michigan Medical Marihuana Act expert” blog. Just as dispensaries are not written into our law, neither are any other businesses. This was not conceived as way to bring the State out of its depression, any more than I was designed to stop a foreclosure or repossession. Some people may be surprise to hear that the legislation was for the patient.   Open any newspaper, magazine, or online article and you will read about the business of marijuana.

Wtf? Read On....................................................

Why has the State of Michigan not published the Medical Marijuana Act of 2008 into the state consitution? Does this mean that none of us have protection from prosecution? Why dosen't the Michigan Department of Community Health enforce the regulations of the Medical marijuana act; instead of the local and state Law enforcment,or the state legislature. Has anyone else noticed this?

I Am Not A Michigan Medical Marihuana Act Expert

I am not a Michigan Medical Marihuana Act expert, but I think I have a clearer understanding of the law than most Michiganders. I founded the first club in the city of Detroit, and have done a number of private meetings and Q&A performances. I have spoken to people of various ages. I take a conservative view of the law, and try to steer actives towards the center, not the fringes of the law. What I find most common with all groups I have spoken with are the questions asked.   I’m asked ab

The Color "green"

I thought that this passage say's a lot...or is interesting, to say the least. It pretty much sums up the Cannabis plant and our community, don't you think?? The color green is the color of balance, harmony and growth The color green is the color of balance and harmony. From a color psychology perspective, it is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart.   From a meaning of colors perspective, green is

Does Chronic Heartburn/gerd Pain Qualify As Medical Condition?

Hi folks. I have suffered with chronic heartburn for 15 years or so. Currently using omeprozole (Prilosec) and am concerned about side effects in the long term. Two questions: (1) Has anyone used medical marijuana for this, and if so, how well does it work? (2) Does a diagnosis of GERD (gastro-intestinal reflux disorder) qualify for med marijuana under "chronic pain" classifications?

Tnt Visited Me Last Weekend

Well it happened to me finally. 2 years and 1 day after I filed my first application to become a patient TNT Traverse Narcotics Team came to my door last week and yes they got a warrant to come in after making me stand on my front lawn almost 4 hours until they got a warrant. Can say anymore than that right now, but will as it develops when my attorney clears it. they left me some in the flower and took most of the veg side. If there are any fellow patients that could possibly help ou

You People Make Me Sick...

It's funny. We've been given this gift, the ability to use this product to helps so many people with so many problems.   Then we have sites like this one, who stalk the Michigan Medical Marijuana scene looking for other friendly and helpful organizations who have only one thing in mind...helping the patient base get the medication that they need. Does MMM.org care? No. They only want their name out there, only want to help their patients, and don't give a bunny muffin about anyone else. K

Week Three

I have five plants that are almost ready for flower and the clones are doing well. I moved my grow tent and added a humidifier as well as watering being cut back and plants are doing well. I also added protyk and it has done well not to let plants wilt. I love it. I am excited to star flowering but I am being patient so as to yield better and to not be impatient and flower bunny muffin up... I will keep posting so that I can see what I do and track my success and failures.

Application On The Way!

So my application is on the way to the state now. I believe I have to wait 21 days once the state receives it, and if no denial letter arrives, then I am good 2 go. So renewal is $100 bucks a year, do they send over a renewal form, or will I need to put it on the calendar? Regardless, it feels good to finally get the ball rolling...

Grow Room Classes

I am a gradute from Oaksterdam and have been a caregiver since the new law passed. I have incredible yields. I am interested in teaching classes regarding grow rooms and their set ups. I have designed, built, wired, and set up several grow rooms. I find there are a lot of classes and information on how to grow plants but not much about how to set up and maintain the room. These classes would be for serious growers only and cost around $300. Would anyone be interested in such a class?

Carmels

I just want to say that I make good Carmel's and they sure do help the pain. I would Like to see if any collectives are interested in purchasing them. I understand that the law is vague right now concerning eatables. From what I understand that they go by the weight of the product not by how much canna butter is in it. Has anyone heard of or know anything about the laws concerning this. I find that my cookies and carmels help the pain and especially for people that can't smoke.
